This will most likely be my next project. I have a zenoah G-62 to put on it. Will it be 3-D capable? If anyone has any flying or building tips please let them be known. Also, if you have any better recomendations for the same sized airplane please let me know. Its always exciting to be getting something new.

Some will argue, but 3D was born by the Giant Stinger. It is a wonderful (albeit, heavy) aerobat. With the G-62 (which it was designed for) you will be pleased.

I just ordered one. Have heard these planes are fantastic to fly. Extreamly areobactic with larger engines. I will put a DA 50 on this one. For less than $220.00 can't beat it.

first flights on mine yesterday .very good flying plane. had a new g62 i wanted to put on something. paid 375 for mine a month later they went down to 250 (i hate it when that happens} so i bought another one now there down to 220 very pleased with the kit .if your going to use anything lighter than a g62 i would suggest moving rudder servos forward. i put 4 servos in tail had to put batteries (2 packs) and smoke pump in nose to balence

Thanks Baba,

I will probably go with the rudder servo in the mid section of the plane. Will have to see when I get it. It shipped out today so it will be a few days before I get it. I'm building a Zero right now so the Stinger will have to wait a while before I get to it.

Do I need to re-enforce the front end of the body? I've heard of these planes splitting at the wing saddle area.

Thanks for the heads up.

MC

buba90 Can you post some pictures of your bird?
would love to see it.

I think I am going to grab one of these before they are gone. At $220. shipped from Tower I think it is a good deal

fritz,

I think you are right on the price. Got mine with a voucher and it was less than $200 bucks. It arrived 4 days after I ordered it. Haven''t opened the box yet but it''s a pretty good size box....

Buba, would love to see some pics as well. Any thoughts on re-enforcement of the wing area on Fuze?

MSC I have been asking around about this plane and it sounds like you would be WELL ADVISED to beef up any questionable areas with tri stock 30 min epoxy and plywood where necessary.

Supposedly the Zenoah 62 is a perfect fit for this bird but it will still need extra weight in the nose to balance it. The vibration from the big 62 should also be noted. Arfs need beefing up this one especially.
On the plus side those sheeted foam core wings are tough and this thing lands like a trainer with that Hershey bar wing

Fritz,
If you beef yours up how about some pics. I think I''m a few weeks away from starting it since I still have a Zero I''m trying to finish up.

Your right, a little over 1500 sq inches of wing is a whole lot of real estate.....

Thanks fritz,

I will have to take a look at this tonight. I fly a lot of 50cc size planes but none with a wing like this one..

Good entry level aerobatic plane if you''re just getting into giants. The ailerons are too small and the plane too heavy for "modern 3-D", especially with a G-62 (magneto version). But it''s a great "point and shoot" aerobat and lands like a trainer.

I had a 3250 in mine. Great plane, like Blaster say, lands like a trainer. A lot of wing to it.

first flights on my giant stinger arf last week havnt taken any pictures yet. first run up in my back yard had alot of vibration with new g62. removed spinner rechecked prop balance took care of that problem(spinner was problem). i still have a 120 size stinger with a st 3250 i built 8 years ago with over 150 flights .not the best aerobatic plane i have but a good fun to fly beater plane. on those days when you get to the flying field and the wind is blowing 30 mph i will still fly the stinger (leave the gp cap 232 and pitts on the ground) the 80 inch wing will fit in a mini van havnt tried 84 inch yet (i also have a pickup)thinking of putting my second giant stinger (still in box ) on floats
