I have the Hyperion AC/DC 5i EOS charger and the LBA10 balancer and run 2s2p and 2s3p 7.4v lipos. My question could probably be applied to other chargers as well. When I check individual cell voltages (2 cells in my case) vs the overall pack voltage, the individual cell voltages when added together is always less than the overall pack voltage. Why is this the case?

For example, checking a partially depleted pack's voltages after about an hour rest, the readings were 3.787v, 3.791v, and 7.64v.

Which voltages should I go by?

Could the device you use to check voltage be pulling a very slight current?

I notice you can check to 3 decimal places, what are you using?

The readings are from the charger but the individual cell voltages can only be read with the balancer hooked up to the charger.

I can't say for sure, but notice this anytime I use my charger (ice) to read individual cells. When reading single cells it appears to pull a slight more amount of current than when checking the whole pack. When adding the cells up it is different. It's not nearly as bad as yours is.

One way to tell is to imediately view the voltage upon plugging in and notice if it drops slightly over time. Mine reads in 3 decimal places and drops only a few mv. You may be able to read the output voltage of charger and eliminate the balancer to probe the cells thru the balance tap (carfully not to short out)
