i got my trusty old avistar out a few weeks ago, ( i had robbed the electronics and engine long ago!!) i have always loved the way it flew. i had enough electronics and a spare engine so i put it back together. yesterday was a beautilull day i left work early went to the flying field. wind was zero she started right up did a pre flight and i was off!! she was doing great just a little down elevator and she was thumbs off!!! made a touch and go went around the pattern and decided it was time for a few loops! on the last loop did a lazy snap on top came out and went inverted ot the bottom. this is when i had a winter brain fart!! i was low and just for an instant i pulled up elevator, just a hint but it was enough i tried to roll out but befor i could get it over a wing hit the ground and it did a nice cart roll. it was kinda funny but then i felt devistated, i had let my old friend down. she is ok minor damage, just goes to show it cant happen no matter what the level of experience.....

It happens!

Gave one of my birds a dirt bath a couple of weeks ago. The airplane came off the ground rolling hard to the left. I over corrected forgetting to reset the ailerons to low rate and rolled it in. Didn't have enough room to fly it out of my mistake.

Minor damage? Consider yourself lucky! That sounds like the kind of crash where you are looking for a new plane. Lost my trusty Avistar due to an old wing repair giving out in flight. Snapped in two and down she went.

Lost one of my best friends too. Trusty ol' Sweet 'n' Low Stick. elevator push rod just gave out. Oh, well, so long old friend.

nothing exciting but i have an update, decided to repair the avistar. i have taken all covering off her and converted to tail dragger, have a few more mods in mind ill post some pics later.
