With humans being all sizes, I personally know fullsize pilots 5'4" to 6'4".
A 1/4 scale pilot figure equating to a 5'7" (170cm) near average height individual, when re-scaled at 1/4.5 becomes a 6'3" (190cm) pilot.

That's within limits

Thanks chaps - can't seem to find anything in 22.5% scale, so I think a 1/4 scale one will have to do. However, I'll wait until the model arrives, then I can find one that looks like being best fit.

Here's a really cool video I found about cropdusting on Youtube. The plane just happens to be the same red, white and blue color scheme Austar's picked. Enjoy!

Glen, I am very interested in the red and white Agwagon. How would I go about ordering one here in the USA. Is there someone here in the states thats distributing them, or do I order direct from you, and if so how do I go about it?
Best Regards,
Scott

Send him your email and address and get on the list. Glen promised to send orders directly to our doorstep here in the U.S. until they found a permanent U.S. distributor. Glen will have to repost that info for us if that offer still stands.......

I hate to agree with you....but I must. These guys seem to be into serious scale representation of the real full sized airplane...matching all the outlines to a tee. The price seems to be in range for a scale replica in this category inluding a higher grade German covering and upper enfd harware.
I must admit, I was rooting for the other company until I found out what the quality of the kit was...it was average at best, and below average in some areas. My friend bought their Super Decathlon, which by the way, flies and looks great. Good scale outline, too. However....apparently, to keep the prices low for the average modeler, they cut alot of corners including using cheap low heat covering that 'melts' into the balsa during covering process, razor thin windshield that's very prone to cracking, cheap throw-away foam tires (really ), the cheapest of Chinese hardware you coul ever find. Be that as it may, I must give credit to where it's due. The wooden airfram seems to be first rate...a shame all that cheap stuff was thrown in there to keep the retail price low. I expect much better quality than that from Austers because a.) they will be compared to the other company we speak of, and b.) the Austars higher price tag speaks for itself as far as quality goes. So, bring it on Austars! I know musiccity always wants to see more pics and video all the time, but I tell you now we're all ready for the plane itself to make a showing at our doorstep! Bring it on!!!

Very well put outacontrol! I myself do not mind in any way paying more for higher quality airframe, and it definatley has to look right. You can tell that the lines on the Austars 188 are very very good. Glen has done his homework on this one for sure. Someone in the USA should pick up the Austars line.

I would hope Horizon or Great Planes would be in consideration. I don't want to sound mean, but it's amazing the amount of cheap junk that gets imported to U.S. and distributors pick up on it and actually sell it because it's affordable to the masses. I do hope these guys find a distributor and do well.....because talent and hard work deserves to be rewarded.....and require a good outlet!

Hi,guys
Austars we apologize for the delay! as we promised it should be released in early July (late June)! due to the new design (few parts) to be PERFECT, hot weather for the "BAD oracover covering film under hot weather", and communication trouble with the factory, it is near 2 months for the delay! we thank you (modellers from USA, UK, Korea, CA) so much for your patience! now the plane is ready, Glen will arrange international shipping for you guys next week!

For instruction details, take a look at the instruction manual, here is the link:
http://www.austars-model.com/document/0808312233176027cessna188%20instruction%20manual.pdf
3 color schemes ( color A, color B, color C, color B and C are almost the same, only their colors are different (orange and yellow)

Our next project-110 inch Gee Bee 3 would be coming soon!, it would be demonstrated in September at "Shepperton Scale Rally",

if you guys have any questions, contact Glen (info@austars-model.com)

Have a good weekend!

Alex
Team Austars

The landing gear could be improved for a better scale look.

Anyway, has this link been posted yet? It is a fabulous "walk-around" photo album of an Ag Truck:

Hi guys Glen the manual looks good easy to follow, Ispoke to my mate from Perth who is coming over for shep, and if we can get the review model at least a week before, ie buy about the 10th then it WILL be built and finished in time with tow hook fitted, I have been collecting servos and kill switch for the job, 100cc wouldbe my preference, if possible.

cheers Rossco.

I'm somewhat disappointed to see that rudder and elevator servos are external. I'm sure it wouldn't have taken much more effort to fit them internally.

The plane is huge, so you can easily just install servos internally if you wish and run linkage out to the control surface. If I had one that is just exactly what I would do.
