Guys, I'm not that picky. Just don't use pink or purple OR TURQOISE! ( Hangar 9 Pawnee...read: N-O-T S-C-A-L-E !!! Otherwise their ARF is built and flies great. I think any of the color scheme shown so far, especially music's post 39 or 44 would be great. I have one more to add below.
I just hope this isn't sold out to a handful of us when available and then on backorder for the next 6 months. Some of us ordered their Pawnee in Nov./Dec '07 and are still waiting to this day. BAD business.
The closest thing to this ARF out there is RC Guys Ag Wagon due out next month priced about $440 U.S.D. and it looks like a good value. However, after some personal reviews from some buyers, it turns out the covering is cheap low heaat economy type and the hardware is to be thrown away....especially the tires. BUT, we really can't complain about the price. For $600+ dollars we're expecting better. Quality of, prehaps, what Dave Patrick used to put out in his heyday. Just my thoughts.

cheers we will take note & do our best to keep guys like your self happy.there are bigger & better things with the ag 188 to come in the future,we will release this one first & work on another size maybe [)] we have had a great responce in australia & os so austars is happy they choose a great scale model in the ag

well i have to be honest here... i was following along in the other thread for the other ARF that was coming out but lost interest in that after the overall design of it seemed a bit off to me. there was one fella on there that kept making me bight my tongue, i guess i just got tired of it and left it alone for others to pursue and rate. i believe AUSTARS look at this ARF seems to be right on the money. it is going to be classed in a different category, no question. but it seems they are experienced in that cat. and have done quite well in it.
i hope this bird turns some heads for them over here. making it a great flying, great looking, solid aeroplane will go a long way.... once it is released, it is too late to make those changes to everyone's first impressions. better to put the time in now and not rush it out the door! (although, we'd all like to see it tomorrow).

i believe h9 had quite a few of those built! i think it is more about underestimating the volume they moved. a LOT of shops had those in stock all around the same time. even up here in canada... lots of them had them on the shelf, but no longer. i think i would have done the same thing. you can't make 5000 of them and sell 1000 in the first 2 quarters. it is all good though guys, it is a AG plane that has captured everyone's interest. next will be the AT802 fire fighting with working water drop!

ANYWAY, Go Austars!!! keep up the great work!

Status: offline 		Yea I agree swix man. I think we have all been looking for a "quarter-scale" and this puppy fits the bill.

My .02 more on color.....as I read the RCGuys Decathalon thread, I realize that color trim and cheap covering dont go together well. Lotsa complaints. Seems to me that these planes should be covered in a high grade covering with a decal sheet included in the kit for coloring. This simple step allows the aircraft owner to customize the airframe without headache of removing factory trim, he can also go with different color and design.

Unfortunantly I like to build as much as I like to fly, which means I like my planes to show uniqueness and individual expression, something that the world of ARF's doesnt really allow.

I can't agree more. Where I live the climate is quite dry, especially in the winter. Most ARF's come in and have extreme wrinkles due to the wood shrinking. Sometimes the covering is so loose there is not enough shrinkage left to get the winkles out. I believe most are built where the climate is alot more humid. I have a RC guys Decathlon and was very pleased with the kit until I started to work with the covering. The color underneath the film lets go from the film and stays attached to the wood leaving the clear film loose. Terrible stuff, the backing fells like a dry paste. I was led to believe it is covered in Oracover (not so sure) and I bought some Ultracote Red to do some repairs from shippping damage. It mached perfectly and the Ultracote I bought says Oracover along the edge or on the back. Ether way I found it difficult to work with compared to Monocote which I am used to. I found the tempature to tack it on is so much lower than what is required to shrink it that it keeps letting go around the edges. Maybe with some more practice with it I could get used to it. Most people seem to really like Oracover, but after working with it for the first time, I'm not so sure about it.

Status: offline 		Yea, swixtt, I had to have words with an individual on the RC Guys about the the first prototype of the this bird. Seems to me he would have settled for anything and insisted everyone else should ,too. Wrong! RC Guys saw the light and improved it. How close to scale it is now that it's almost out the door I won't say...but it does look much better. That thread got kinda nasty at certain parts.
Anyway, just knowing Austars is using a brand name like Oracover has gotten me feeling good about this model in addition to it seems they've got the scale outlines dead on right from the get-go....no going back to the factory for improvement changes. Not bashing anyone here....I will still own an RC Guys Ag Wagon when it comes out because I've got to have em' all!! But, that said...I REALLY appreciate the ARF maker that comes to within 1% of the real deal, the most acurate rendition of the real thing you can get...plus the bonus of scale goodies.....three cheers to the Austrailians!

Status: offline 		No doubt, Austars is putting together a top notch ARF! I don't know about you guys, but I seem to be addicted to checking this post. lol I'm like a kid in a candy store! I've been thinking about what upgrades I would like to see on this model. The only things I can really think of would be better wheels, functional spray bars and possibly a detailed cockpit. I had not really considered the propect of functional spray bars until Glen mentioned that in his post. I think that could really set this model apart from the other Ag ARF's out there. I would like to see the upgrades within reason so as not to run up the price. Also, the more I look at the orange and black paint scheme the more I like it! I think that would be my pick.

Status: offline 		hi guys,the last few months have been all about testing the austars planes.I was in the right spot at the right time when austars offered me to build & test fly there planes which i thank them for,i test them in the sun in the air & on the gound & if there has been a problem austars are on to the factory to fix the problem before they are built, i can tell you 1 thing guys austars listen to there customers as they no if they dont things wont sell,im looking forward to testing the new 120'composite that im building now,i was a 3d only pilot before & now im realy likeing the scale planes [)]

guys can you do me a big favour i need to find out where the glidder pulling hook would go or an idea on
