To tell you the truth, I think your binding up somewhere. What do you use to set your mesh? Unless something in the tranny is getting stuck, I think it's hanging up and making the shoes slip like I've never seen before. I'm almost at a gallon and a half and my bell isn't scorched like yours is, just getting a tan/brown color on mine.

Jamie!!! Poo is on to something!!! You have a major problem there bud!! Sure the CB will get hot, but not that hot!! what is happening is your CB is getting VERY hot on the outter clutch surface and not so much in the center. The CB's are hardened steel so when they are exposed to that kind of heat then cooled down they can and will get brittle/crack at the thermal zone(Where the hot meets the cool), creating a weak spot. You need to find out why you are cooking the Clutch before you change another CB. I would check all everything on your drivetrain. In fact when your truck is up off the wheels try to rotate the wheels and see how easy it is turn. Everything should spin freely!!

By any chance are you driving this truck in tall weeds or grass??

jamie, do you run with your fuel line on the head like that?

Can you get a better picture of the gear teeth? I can't tell if it's the light or if your teeth are starting to eat the outer edge.

Hi guys,

I am thinking about getting a GST 7.7 to add to my monster truck collection. However I seem to get very negative feedbacks from everyone I talk to, and even from people from the local hobby stores. Anyone here have one that can give me some unbiased feedbacks?

Personally for me, they have been good. I must add that I maintain and take care of them. Many don't or don't learn the basics and the result is crying to momma or typically trashing them on some forum. I can speak, owning a Nemesis, Genesis LE & a Matrix Arena TR as well as other boats, a crawler, and a Blizzard. You'll also find that many trashing Cen products also have been no closer to one than a picture in a magazine. You'll also find that anyone owning ANY rc with have things go wrong. It's part of the game. If you find one that doesn't, let me know, I'll buy it !!

nomobux,

Thanks for your reply. I actually am one of those guys who take real good care of my trucks. I got into this whole RC hobby about 5 months ago and now Im hooked. It all started this past xmas with my first RC vehicle (AE's MGT 8.0). I would like to collect all the moster trucks from the major players. So far I got the MGT 8, Savage XL, New Tmaxx, and Losi LST2. I am looking at getting the CEN, because it seems like a contender in the monster truck arena. I just get a lot of negative feedbacks. I do understand that maintenance is the key to keeping the trucks running. Im into the whole cleaning after each day, after run after each day, BDC.. etc.. etc... I love my cars so I am very anal about maintaning them. I think I will be looking into getting the GST now.

The only time I had something go wrong with my GST is when I did something dumb. Mostly solid truck, my wish list has the nemesis diffs, stronger drive shafts from diff to wheel(comes with stronger/bigger drive cup) and the nemesis front drive shaft from the center diff to the front diff. With all of that, along with my roll cage and one way valve going into the fuel tank, I'll have a great truck to go out and destroy . IMO it's a great way to spend some hard earned cash to put a smile on your face.

Nice fleet, you have the dog I want

Before you try and run the truck, show us how you set your mesh. Can you get video of the truck trying to pull out? If it's not the mesh it might be easyer if we can see and hear what's going on. Some slow pull outs and a few fast.

When the truck is off, holding the 2 back or front wheels, turning the other 2 your not holding, how hard do you have to move them to see the bell and gears moving? Also, when you hold the bell still and try and move the bigger gears a little, to you feel a tiny little bit of room or is it tight?
