Trawling ebay and I came across this-

Anyone got any info on it.

I'm guessing it's a captured PZIV thats been converted by the Russians then recaptured by the Germans.


Anyway I thought it might make a good PZIV conversion.

It's based on the Russian light tank, the T-70. Not the PIV.

The Russians made an SU-76i that was an SU 76 superstructure on a Pzr III chasis after they aquired all of Von Paulus' vehicles with the German surrender at Stalingrad.

Somewhere on the net Ive seen a conversion kit for bashing the HL Pzr III into an SU-76 (i)

a bit late but I just came across this post and note there wasn't any positive ID. These were based on the Russian T-60 and T-70 light
tank chassis, Open rear with very light armor on the sides. Most we ran into in korea had 57mm guns,(SU-57) some with 76.2 guns.
Don't know where they got the designation 76r.

The 'r' means it's captured by the Axis.

Like I said up there, (r) means (captured from) Russland, just like (f) means (captured from) France as in Char B2 740(f), Panzerjager 35R 731(f) etc.

Others are:
Belgium(b), Czech (t), France (f), Great Britain/Canada (e), Hungary (u), Italy (i), Netherlands/Holland (h) , Poland (p) Soviet Union/Russia (r) and USA (a)

I wonder what the Germans would have thought of this? (Lend-Lease BREN Carrier, and Anti-Tank Rifle whose name rhymes with "Toys" ) [:D]

Rommel captured a number of these at Tobruk and mounted his 47mm AT guns on them. They made a VERY good tank killer. Very fast, very small target and easy to hide behind a bush, shoot and scoot. The Boys AT gun fired thru the extension in front, but the
Germans mounted the PAK on top where it had good trraverse and better field of fire. I had an American Ford version T-16 but with my AT gun also firing from the bow like a STU or SU-85. They are real fun track to drive and easy to maintain. I could change a track block or adjust tension alone with no problems.
