Status: offline 		Hey guys, I flew off water for the first ime the other day, that has to be the most fun I`ve had flying yet. It is definely tough to control without the water rudder which I have working now. I actually find it easier to take off and especially land on water. the sight of that plane with floats reminds me of guiding for mountain goats off the coast of BC! That Super tigre 45 sure has power I still can fly around at 1/2 throttle maybe a bit less with a 10x6 prop and the plane weighs nearly 8 pounds with those floats on. I wonder if I could go to a 11x5 or 12x4 would I gain by shortening my take of roll/float?

Status: offline 		Glad you are having fun Rib.. I used a Solo Sport for a club instruction plane for many years. My flying weight with wheels was 6 1/2 pounds, but I had a pretty heavy RX batt. for long training flights. Those props would offer more thrust and less top end speed, so yes you probably would get off the water faster.
