Just got home from the Sod Farm up north. It was a great day of flying even with the winds at a constant 20-25 mph. It was really blowing up there but we were fortunate to be at the sod farm where we can always T/O and Land into the wind. Dave K. brought out his Frankenschmitt 109, Quadra 100 power and a Ziroli P-40 with the ZDZ 100 inline. (I didn't get any pics of the P-40). Sorry Dave..... Jeff Q. flew his Ziroli Corsair, 3w-70 power. He has a 24 ounce tank in it and it will get exactly 8 min and 30 seconds of flight time. Then he is landing whether he wants to or not. I'd kick it up to a 32 oz. tank buddy:) Cal flew his Conachen 100 inch Corsair with a BME102 up front. For a "BIG PIG" it fly's like it's on rails. He also flew his Meister 109 with G-38 power. I had out my Yellow Spit again and I flew my Pica P-51 Mustang with a G-62. The Pica really handled the wind better than I thought it would. It's a really nice looking plane from 5 feet or more! Opie was flying his scratch built Fokker D7. I can't remember what engine he's running....Possibly a G-38. He also had out a 1/3 scale CUB. He made a great one wheel landing when he lost his left wheel on a fast pass. Phil S. brought out his new Ziroli Hellcat. This thing is really nice. 5.8 or Quadra 100 for power, I can't remember. Glennis wheels, panel lines, Dzus fasteners etc. She's mint..... He also flew his new RACING Corsair. I'm not sure of the wingspan but it's a little smaller than the Ziroli. Quadra 75 makes it fly like a Reno racer. He also brought out his Meister 109 with a G-38. Last one Phil had out was a Yellow Spitfire. G-45 power. This was my first Yellow Spit. When I bought it, it had been through at least 10 owners. It flew in Top Gun in 1991 with Wayne Siewert. Joe Grice, Jeff Q., Maury Engen, Cal B., just to name a few, all owned it before me at one time or another. This was the first large scale plane I destroyed. I snapped it into trees about 5 years ago or so. I ripped off the front end (literally missing the top front of the fuselage) and broke the wing into 4 pieces. Again, a lot of the wing was crushed in the crash. I actually had the wing hanging on my garage wall in pieces for the last 4 years or so. Phil came over one day and said "what are you doing with that thing?" I said nothing, it's just a decoration. He said he could put it back together and I said you're welcome to try. Well, he put his magic touch on it and I saw it fly today. Nice going Phil....... Pictures are in no order.... Dave
