Pilot got grounded for doing a barrel roll around three other jets at Fenway park. Looked like he was almost high alpha/stalled near the end of the roll. Might have been an accident, not sure. This is just my interpretation, no flaming please. I hope you enjoy the video.

Heh-heh! One of the posts reads, "hahaha!! he'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog$#!+ to Hong Kong before the day is out." (I think he means "out of" Hong Kong.)

I'm from MA and we got a bit more in the news up here than you guys did. According to the news, the pilot claimed that he was behind the rest of the flight and trying to catch up. He did the roll to slow down. I'm not too sure that I buy that one...

The main issue here is that he did the manuever at a very low altitude. Something like that (at least for flight demonstrations) is not sanctioned at altitudes below 5000 feet, and these guys were at 1000 or 1200 feet. Again, this is according to the news.

I think that the pilot will be 're-trained' which could very well mean that he will never fly again. We had a pilot in our Squadron who put on an airshow at another base at the request of one of the Squadron CO's there... the problem is that the base C.O. got word of it and didn't like it. When the pilot returned to home base, he was essentially fired. He was able to keep his wings, but the local squadron would not let him back in their airplanes, so that meant that other squadrons also would not 'hire' him. In essence, his flying career was over. Too bad. It was a nice airshow, but the pilot may have paid too high a price.

What have you guys heard out your way?

Bob
