Very simple Slash question. Can someone please tell me what the stock (out of the box) settings were for the front and rear preload shock spacers? Im almost sure that the front had no preload spacers, and the rear had an 8mm preload. But I may be wrong... hence the post. I know someone out there has kept their slash stock and will know... Thanks guys!

Thanks kinzuagolfer. Thats what I thought it was.

kdiddy93 : Thats great, I just got my Slash and I have 4 packs Ill be using. I have Two 7 cell 3600 mah NIMH intellect packs, and Two 7 cell 4700 mah NIMH Max Amps packs. I have all my batteries configured to work with both my E-Revo and my Slash now. Took alot of work, but it was well worth it, now I dont need to buy any batteries for the slash at all. I can imagine the runtime Im going to get with my 4700mah packs. The only change I made to the slash was the suspension settings because Ill be racing on asphault. And I changed the pinion to the 23 tooth, but didnt like the acceleration, so instead of going back to the stock 18 tooth. I out a 21 tooth on. Perfect combo of top speed and the acceleration Im going to need on the short track Ill be racing on.

Looked a a slash today and the hobby shop guy said that the ESC that comes withe the truck can handle 3s lipos and has lipo cut off protection? Is this true or can you only use nimh batteries?
thanks

I use 3s A123. I've ran it twice like that so far. The A123 batteries are 3.3v per cell as compared to lipo's that are 3.7v per cell. I have never used a lipo, so I don't know for certain if they work or if there is a built in lipo cutoff. There very well could be since when my battery gets low it quits moving.

You can use nimh batteries too.

I just ran my slash with my 4700 mah 7 cell max amp pack today, and its FAST. I am very surprised at how well this thing runs. I have it set to run on on road, and running a 21 tooth pinion. I will update after saturday, but I will definately give the slash guys at my track a run for their money.

That is incorrect. Unless they have changed the electronics in the current version(I know there have been some minor running changes including the front rims and decal jobs on the bodyshell), it is the standard XL-5 ESC which is rated up to 8 cells (9.6v nominal vs a 3S lipo at 11.1v nominal) and there is no cutoff. You can probably get away with running a 3S on it if you gear it appropriately, but you will have to be very careful about the voltage at the end of a run. You can certainly use 2S lipos, but again, you will have to be careful about the voltage and stop running before it drops too low.

I personally would not run a 3s lipo through a xl-5 for any length of time. I would almost 100% guarantee a fried egg eventually Even if its only 9.6, but if you do, monitor the temp very often.
