I have a tamiya guide book that says when painting lexan shells, paint darker colours first, but when i have talked to people, they tell me to paint the lighter colours first... i want to paint it with the rear third a really bright white, the middle third mirrored chrome and the front third a dark gloss black. Which order wold be best? (this is my first go at painting lexan and it's just a cheap shell, but i'd like to get a fairly decent finish on it)

i've got all the details ready to print out onto masking paper and i know to paint all of them first, and i'll be using spray cans for most of it and paint pens/brushes for some of the finer detail. any really fiddly detail will be applied as a decal, (i've already got most of the decals of stuff that i will be unable to paint myself as it will be too intricate and require another 4 or 5 cans of paint.

If it were me I would piant the chrome first
then black cause you need to back chrome with black
white last
i always paint light colors last to ensure the darker colors do not bleed through

Paint the darker colors first when ever possible. The above poster is correct tho. When using paints that need to be backed with black, paint that first then the black.
