Status: offline 		Finally decided to start on this build, despite having 4 other incomplete tank builds.[:''(]

This Panther is gonna be primarily gonna become a shelf queen, because I''m more interested in the modeling aspect of this hobby, compared to the RC. But I don''t mind running my tanks outside once in a while.

Here''s some parts I got from Willy at CustomRCModels. Great guy to deal with! I got the Impact PE set, the metal sprockets, metal sprocket wheel guides, metal mantlet, and the Impact muzzle break, which came free with the PE set.

Status: offline 		Annnd....it''s probably a bad idea to work on two tank builds at once, but I couldn''t help start on my Matorro King Tiger.

I already started by replacing the barrel with a metal one, fixed the bulge on the bottom front hull plate, and removed the side tool mounts in preparation for the Impact PE set that I ordered from ETO

Very nice work, I especially like the chipping on the Tiger. It''s just enough without being overdone.

Just last week I completed a rebuild of the Tamiya Panther. I had a thread going on this forum for most of the build. I personally like to beat my tanks up pretty good, so it''s showing some pretty hardcore wear and tare.

I too used a metal barrel, upgraded sprockets and the Impact (Lion Roar) PE set, or at least some of it. I run my tanks pretty hard, and our battlefield here in Arizona isn''t the easiest on tanks so I opted to leave off some of the super fragile parts and focused on paint and weathering techniques. If you didn''t get a chance take a look and see if there might be something there you might find useful.

Status: offline 		Sadly, nope. This Panther will definitely need the metal tracks...which I couldn't afford at the moment. (Building two tanks at once with all the upgrade parts).

So Here's the basic start of this build. Starting with the tension pulleys. Each pulleys has 9 parts. Good thing there's a good show on TV while I was building this tank.


I also installed the suspension housings, torsion bar stays, torsion bars, and suspension arms. Had a bit of a problem with one of the suspension housings, because the srew holes won't line properly. So I had to use brute force. -_-



Tension pulleys installed.


Metal sprocket wheel guides installed. I prefer this because the sculpt is far more detailed than the stock Tamiya parts.


The mechanism deck plate and the two gearboxes installed. I need to remember to break these gearboxes in before I run in outside.


Idlers, sprocket wheels, and the roadwheels installed. Each roadwheels are composed of 9 pieces, including the rubber tires. This is probably the most tedious part of the build.


Up next, installation of the remaining of the electronics, turret assembly, and detailing of the hull.
