uhh (thinking not sarcastic) by the way this''ll be long just so you know i have only seen an mt2 on a self and pics, and vids online....

if you have the g3.0 you schould be set other than that i can''t help with motors

check here though
http://www.rc411.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6415

1 tune it, go out on a nice clear day about 60 is good get it running smoothly with the idle screw faster (see manual booky thing) for a smother idle, make sure the wheels arn''t on the gound, you may have to change up the trim if your really slowing the idle screw, next hsn (high speed needle) you''ll need some space, get this thing ripping, hammer it, and slowly lean it out 1/8 of a turn, once it really feels like its ripping, good responce at low end and really good at speed, then your set, it you like your low end, leave it if not lean it 1/16 and run if for a few, continue untill happy, avoid running too lean temps abv. 280 i''d stop at 260 check form time to time, if it has a mid i wouldn''t bother with it.
2 Treads, the mt2 has the geolanders stock, good allaround drirt roads stuff, if your running full blown off road, loose dirt grass.... i highly recomend pro line badlands motoX inspired, heard great things, can''t wait to get some , the mt2 comes stock w/ 2.2 rims meaning you can pick from almost any tire out there, there is also a large selection of on road and hybrid treads as well, i recomend proline but hpi has some nice ones i prefer pro-line though get the r3 (long wear) or m2 compound if bashing (if they don''t say it''s m2 mid wear)
to remove them soak in acetone for a few days after removing the rest of tire leave small bead to pull off, your crome may come off idk never done w/ crome, or pick up some debonder from great planes works better if you want to keep currents, give it time,

3. gearing, bigger clutch bell/ smaller spur = more speed less punch, smaller bell bigger spur more punch (eaisier to wheelie) less on the top, but once you tune it you''ll have abetter idea, or what you''ll need,

4 general, as stock with 90% of rtr''s they come with crummy radio equipement across the board underpowered servos and cheep radio''s fact, the mt2 is no exception, i''d recomend upgrade you steering servo to a futaba s3305

or this

the metal gears will NOT strip the the plastic ones that WILL, (happened to me in my 1/10 2wd electic twice)

feul can also kick it up a notch idk what you run but go the the max your recomended if you still want more power and speed you will need to retune.

5 last bit the mt2 isn''t design for wheelies so you''ll have a hardish time pulling them off due to the low center of gravity it might be possible if not the savage is a great truck hint hint, that''s all hope it helps

hey sal911, i'm new to nitro, but i have a little knowledge in electric. ok the other suggestions were good, but also take out the dogbones and replace 'em with MIP CVD's. now you get to experiment, play with the shock oil and springs. in the tire area, maybe proline step pins, or bowties. tune,...tune,...tune. practice is also the best thing to mix with speed. often times in races the guy that drives best (the best driver) is NOT driving the fastest car/truck. he's just driving it BETTER. so practice. oh, and tune,...tune,...tune.
motorsaver air filter is also a good addition to your engine.

Okay, I am a little confused here.

The carb should be set on the high side first. Break in settings should be too rich, get it up to temperature and tune it so that it wails on top end without stalling as it runs out of fuel.

Then set the low end so that you get good throttle response and a nice clean idle, some engines never really idle clean.

Your idle speed should be a mechanical setting and have absolutely nothing to do with your radio's trim settings.

Some people, myself included, set the trim up for a fast idle during start up and warm up.

Fuel, temperature, humidity and a host of other factors will keep you making minute adjustments to your carb.

This video from Hpi is the best tuning lesson I have watched. BB
