Not so true. I had one of the chargers actually catch fire. Like burst into flames on the kitchen counter well i called up the company and they had one shipped out to me within ten minutes. I am new to the Heli world but i have ordered alot of other gear from different companies and i think they're doing a pretty fair job.

Yea. If your serious about this hobby you need to replace that [charger] ASAP anyway. You cant expect much from it (except it to be UL approved) given you got it (all) for $200. That maybe inpart why they are having [battery] issues to begin with. There are many to choose from but my budget minded opinion would be a Triton Jr.

ALWAYS keep an eye on any LiPo based power components and accessories.

Hey all OP here again...

Has anyone returned them without a discharge connector?

I have just about "used" my 3 batts. up (slight puffing) and am ready to return them but I want to keep my ultra connectors. I have long since "lost" the original ones.

TIA...rWw

I returned mine without the discharge connector. I had changed mine out to the ultra connectors too. I sealed up the ends with heat shrink before I sent them off. No issues, I already have the replacement battery...I havent tried it yet. It is too hot here in Az now.

Wow just called hobby services and was told that a new shippment was received today. Does this mean after way over 90 days I can try and learn to fly again. Sorry not to be negative but this whole thing took alot longer then I expected.

Hey,

OP here.

My plan all along was to wait before sending in my batts. because I was sure there would be a rush at first that HS [hobby services] would likely not be able to keep up with.
In the meanwhile I would fly the piss out of the the three batts. I have whilst keeping an eye on them for the safety issues. (I never read here or elsewhere that anyone ever had a problem anyway).
Well I finally "pulled the pin" and sent them in about three months later on 7/30.
According to the HS website, they received my old ones on 8/2 and sent out the new ones on 8/4. I expect them on or by 8/09.

Not bragging, but keep this in mind if you are ever involved in a recall in the future. Wait abit before responding!

Edited for my poor typing (spelling).

OP here,

Yes, I did receive them... on the 8th!

That was just 10 days after I sent them in.

I also received 3 LPMs which I have no use for.

FWIW: I converted to brushed separates and a GY240.
According to my batt. charger (Triton Jr.), 5.5 min flights (just hovering) are consuming about 73% of batt. capacity. I use this [capacity] to gauge flight times as opposed to an on-board monitor. I will try increasing flight times until I reach the 80-85% capacity, then reduce times as the batts. age to maintain the capacity % used.
