So I decided to move up from my 2 coaxials, which have given me hours of enjoyment inside my home I might add. I''''m still fuzzy on my orientation skills and often go left when I mean right while flying towards myself etc. At any rate I bought a Honeybee FP not long ago and must say, what a BANG for the buck, and it sure has been through it''''s share of Bangs. I''''m still not all that great with it but I can keep her in a steady hover around the yard. The bug has bitten me, and though I should keep practicing with my FP, I still had an itch for more power. I went ahead and picked up an AXE cp. WOW, what a difference in power with the bigger motor and Lipo batteries. It was also EXTREMELY sensitive to my cyclic input. After my first "big" crash which really only resulted in about 30 dollars worth of spare parts, i rebuilt most of the rotor assembly. I have the blades tracked nicely and it barely shakes even on spool up. I noticed an EXTREME decrease in sensitivity. The rudder input works great but my cyclic gives me next to zero control. She flutters to the left real bad when she''''s about to lift off and even with full right thumb and full right radio trim, I can''''t get her to even think about countering. I''''m thinking there is an issue with the paddles, they are very loose and I can move the entire flybar in a 360, the paddles just kinda droop and I figured they would straighten out on spool up. I was always under the impression that paddles needed to be horizontal to the rotor blades at 0 pitch, and should be stiff, not droop? Did I miss something when I put it back together? I''''m adding some pictures, hopefully it will explain a bit better.

It''''s hard to tell but I''''m spinning the flybar/pattles 360 degrees with ease. I can''''t see any flaws with my workmanship. Let me know if you think something is amiss here.

The plastic ends on your Stabilizer Control Hub are probably busted off. You can''t see them because they are under the silver weights. The flybar shouldn''t move at all. They should stay level with the control hub

Ok Arnold...the first thing is yes the flybar paddles stay in one position. To do this you need to tighten down the flybar weights at the base of the flybar carrier...yes you will crush the plastic little ends to do this. What I do...is with the paddles on I measure each side from the edge of the carrier to the base of the paddle and get them to be equal lengths tighten to keep from moving and then balance the whole thing with the ball links disconnected, moving the whole flybar a little at a time until it balances it self and then tighten it down and recheck the balance...adjust and then tighten down securely.
Next I would disconnect the motor and verify that you have your servos at 90 degrees in idle up mode with your throttle at 50% and that your swash plate is level...adjust as needed...this will help with the left drift some but it is the nature of the heli to drift left because of the pressure the tail rotor puts as it turns. From the looks of your last picture you look good but I can only see one servo...make sure that your servos are moving together and you do not have a stripped servo...If your set up is correct then you should not have to use very much trim at all. I recommend watching Finlesses videos on set up to understand more how to set up your heli....they are different brands than the Axe but the basics are the same...you can use a lot of the info he gives. Finless Trex 450 Set up If I may recommend the CCPM set up videos...it will show you how to set up and dial in your heli.
Also when I go to lift off....I try to lift off very quickly, almost popping up into the air...the axe does not like the rotor wash very much because it is so light...once you are up about 2-3 feet the Axe responds better.
Hope this helps some
Ed

Thanks a ton for the info. I was confused because I had broken off the plastic end pieces on the stabilizer control hub. Everything else seemed excellent outside today, I dared not try to take off but I was able to get the blades tracked nicely and the swashplate level. Tomorrow I''m going with the local club to the elementary school gymnasium after hours. Plenty of room for some good training time. Gonna meet some fellow enthusiasts in the process! I''m going to watch the video''s you posted Ed. You made my evening man thanks!

The flybar paddles should be parallel with each other and with the flybar carrier, and at zero pitch the main blades should also be parallel to the flybar carrier.

If the ship is wanting to pull over hard left when you try to pick it up, give your main shaft a good look...it's possible the swashplate doesn't have full and free travel over its normal range. I had a similar problem to what you're describing, and discovered that the main shaft had acquired a gouge that kept the swashplate from moving up far enough to get the main blades to zero pitch. Replacing the main shaft cured the problem, although someone who's really good with a Dremel MIGHT be able to polish the gouge out of the shaft without further damage. I don't recommend it, because of the very close tolerances involved...easier and safer to simply replace the shaft.
