2 packs tonight. the trex just gets better and better. it flys so smooth. . with plenty of power. i did so many rolls and flips that it became effortless. I'm gonna start doing circles. thats something i've been avoiding. i finally had a good sim practice on the computer doing 3d and circles. and more nose in would be good as well.

SR....I'm gonna take you up on that offer on doing the chinese tail mod. just PM me with your address and i'll send it you with post paid return. THx

Thx SR i will mail that tail when i have the chance sometime next week. what parts do you need? i'm humble by your kindness.

flew 2 packs tonight at the park. more flips and rolls. my flips are more stationary then ever. . rolls are awesome. the shakes have disappeared. comfort level is an all time high with no fear of crashing. this is the best hobby EVER!

2 packs on the hurricane 550... just lazy flying.. nothing special.. but it was a very fun couple flights... 1 pack on the BH450se... some FFF with high speed banked turns and a couple stall turns... lost orientation on a stall turn and I found out how fast that heli can go from 100 feet up to ground level... less than a second. .. the impact was hard enough to separate the gyro case, shear the main shaft, blow 3 links apart, 2 servo horns shattered.. boom is slightly bent, boom supports are slightly bent.. main blades destroyed... pack slightly bent on one corner.. landing gear destroyed.. canopy in about 4 pieces.. most likely the servos are toast but I won't know for sure until I start rebuilding.. the good news is... the CF frame is in one piece!

OMG Kaelan...that is a good one! I fianlly put together a slide show of the Mars 480 build.
I have been testing the Mars still....it is just not right on yet. I am still not very comfortable beyond tail in hover and side hovers. Tail wanders and it feels like it is not level. I have checked everything 3 times now and mechanically it appears to be right...I plan on upgrading the servos and motor very soon. I ordered the gear set for the crasheed 9257 so maybe that will help.

Here is a link to my Build Slide show for the Mars Mars Build Slide Show

Darn Kaelan, that sounds spectular! The 450's are so easy to loose perspective, for my eyes anyway. And they are FAST, and mine scares me on almost every flight that I do fff. I hope the rebuild goes well for you.

We are on vacation and I brought the V2. Small area to fly right outside our door 100'x 50'. I was doing hovers with a slow piro's trying to keep over the tennis ball I had for a marker when a guy walked up behind me, and starts to chat about his HBK2. I LAND before I make a ground attack. He was on his second HBK2 and still no hover. I went to his garage to take a look. WOW they are little!!!! With even smaller parts!!

went to the park with trex this morning. flew 2 packs doing flips and rolls and nose in. For the first time i had it nose in and push the cyclic forward to make it fly towards me. did a hard left bank and flew it around in a circle. . it was awesome.

on the third pack i spooled it up and hit the idle switch. it lifted to about 5 feet up and it started doing piros by itself. i had no tail control! . lucky i had some quick reflexes and bought it down to 2 feet and hit the throttle hold switch. whew. no damage. its still crash free. . i went over to investigate what went wrong. first thing i check was the belt. it was LOOSE. now i usually check the belt every 10 flights or so but havn't done so because it was flying so well. took it home and found out the 2 screws on the boom mount was loose. the bad news is that it wont tighten up. i guess i may have over tighten them and its stripped. Luckily i have an extra boom mount from the exi and will swap it out.

what a close call. i'm so glad that the belt didn't came loose on the first 2 packs or i would of crash for sure. whew.

I was out flying the TRex this evening in between paint coats for the Mars canopy...I was on my 4th pack and I nosed in the dirt big time!!! I was doing a back flip and I think the Flight Power 25C 2500 came loose. I found it with the canopy about 3 feet from where the heli ended up. I only put on the small Align Velcro strap and normally I have two on for that big battery...As I went over backward I could not pull it out of a nose in dive. It would not come up at all. It is amazing how fast you run out of 90' of air space....I did remember to hit the throttle hold switch before it hit Hey...small victory's in this time of morning is needed.
Canopy is definitely messed up(thank goodness it was not my nice one...that one has to be flown now), fly bar, main shaft, CF blades, tail rotor blades from first look...Main gear and everything else appears to have survived...I will have to look it over more thoroughly later.

just finished repairing my boom mount. after i got it repaired i took it out for a test flight. it started doing piros by itself again. bought it down with no damage again. went over to investigate and the freaking tail drive pulley popped off. . i have an extra one from the exi that i could use.
it was such a pain to change it. took an hour and half with breaks in between. what a stinker day. . bird dont wanna go fly fly dang it

at least its now repaired and ready to rock.

oh yeah. now i know why my tail kicks every now and then. its because that stupid pulley had slipped. i was thinking about using some ca to make it stick but didn't think that was a good idea since this pulley is always spinning. i can't have ca holding together the source of my tail power.

use jb weld. [better just to buy new ones with the alloy/metal puleys]

1 flight 450, 1 flight 500

worked on tighter flips and more control of flips entering and exiting. held a inverted hover on the 500 almost 2 minutes. probably the longest yet.

i fried my hyperion charger [i wont get into it but hyperion is taking care of me] so i wont be flying the 500 anytime soon
tracking is off on the 450 and the head feels loose so ill be going through the head tonight.

no wrecks
