my first pack this morning went good.. the mars hovered above my head resulting to lost of orientation.. throttled down immediately and the mars landed hard which i thought the skid broke by the looks of it... the skid actually came apart clean , all i had to do is pop the skid back in its place and lock it with the spongy foam.. whaam-baam thank you mam!! a quick fix with no money spent

1 flight today and i stuck my 450 35' up a tree which i climbed in shorts only and sandals and proceeded to fall out the last ten feet when a limb broke. scrapes and scuffs lol but o got my heli!!!!

im fine but i busted 1 of my really good CF blades, main shaft, CF boom in half, mavrikk belt, broke the flybar off in the gorilla paddle but i pulled a trick and saved the paddle. about a 50 dollar wreck. lucky i have all the peices and its almost ready to fly after a hour or so.

3 pacs on the 450 and 2 on the 500.

at almost like im taking steps backwards lately

i was bringing in the 500 to land, i was in normal mode and i came in and ended up sideways and instead of getting it rite i flipped it upside down to punch out with negative. problem was i was in normal mode. so no power inverted lol but it did slow the heli down as i hit TH and she dropped 15' and i hear crunch crunch. heli gods were smiling as i only had a stripped servo which i have MG,s for anyway and the plastic canopy mount busted off. i was flying a short while ltr and its actually set up a hair better and seems to fly cleaner when i reset the swash

Got a blackhawk 450 yesterday and flew my first 2 packs today after work. I'm new so I was just doing some hovering about 4-5' high. Wow, what a rush! Did a little bush trimmin but no damage. I love this hobby!

maidend my 600 today and it exploded in mid air. $130 in damage. frame busted up and a few odd odd,s and ends. considering main blades are 90 bucks i got off cheap and whn im done the heli will be better then ever.

flew the 500 today and had a clean flight. inverted hovering, barrel rolls and i worked on my cornering and they are progressing

if you want more info on the 600 crash its on the main thread at helifreak at the top

Hey Sprout, I read that mid air explosion over at the Freak. Wow! Did you ever figure out what happend for sure? Canopy?

Flew the maiden flight on my 600e yesterday just hovering. Flew it again this morning with some ff. All is good so far. I did put 20% expo in it. I am really happy with how it turned out though. Its one serious heli!

went to a retention pond with my friend to go flying. first pack with the mini titan was awesome. . plenty of rolls. i also did a few flips. my friend went on the next pack. he has the mars40 with lights and strobs. looks real nice. behind us was a storm coming. but we didnt care. my friend was doing some forward flight and had a brain fart then dive straight into the ground. . signifcant damage was done to his heli. i went next on my titan and the wind gusts was picking up. i didnt care and flew anyway. while i was in idle up the wind gusts picked up big time. it was so bad my titan was dipping up and down violently. i had to bring her in. barely bought her in and hit the throttle kill. she dropped like a rock about 3 feet up and broke the landing gears. whew. . i escaped with broken skids and nothing else. . i already have the super skids so that will be the first upgrade. . not so with my friend's bird though. looks like a total rebuild.

2 packs with my mars and 3 on my BH... i'm still on the hovering phase and i would bring it up 15 feet up in the air once in a while and go back down on a 3-4 foot hover.. i finaly scratch the tip of my cf blade on the BH trying to do quick lefts and rights intentionally.. baam! the blade licked the concrete pavement i kept flying the BH after that, no real damage done..

my BH is more stable than ever and i can probably let go of the stick on a good trim, it just gets boring hovering like that so i would do quick left and right stick inputs to make it fun

good to hear your about your progress HT.. . if i may suggest.... after you learn your tail in hover. do the right side in hover till you get bored with tears in your eyes. then the left side in. it doesnt matter which side in you learn first. just learn them. . if you get into trouble go back to tail in hover. pretty soon you'll be zipping around likes its second nature.

I have been without a flying heli for almost 2 weeks now. Told the wife I have to get at least one flying...went to LHS and got all the parts for the TRex and she is flying again!!!
I had to remove one side of upper frame because one of the canopy mounts broke off and had to replace one of the HS65MG because is bound up and would not move. so after 5 hours of pulling everything apart and putting it all back together she is flying as good as ever. The wind prevented me from flying more than one pack...it kicked up right a t the end of my flight and made landing interesting.
My wife told me to go ahead and get the Mars flying again so parts are on their way...shoud be back in the air with it by the end of the week.
