I apologize, I just didn't appreciate being called out like that earlier in the thread. I'll cool my jets.
Hey, archer: sorry for goin' nuts on ya, man. I got a little outta line, there, but I'm done now.
After thinking about it, those Hong Nors aren't really all that bad. A buddy of mine (one with waaay experience than me) once told me that My MBX was a purpose-built buggy.
It's not bad, it's just not aimed at the high-end racers. It served it's purpose, and it introduced me to r/c racing.

Hey dok. how do you like the axial engine??? I want to get one to try modding it for experiments, does it run good???

I love it.. I have ran over two quarts of fuel threw it and no problems. After a slow brake in process, it is boggy but after a few twist of a screw driver it all goes away. I am running it about 1 3/4 turn leaner than Factory and could lean it out a little more (Factory settings are VERY rich). My temps are around 230-250 degrees Fahrenheit and I am getting about seven minutes a tank.
After it warms up for a minute it just keeps on going... Great engine and I would recommend it to anyone.

Need any more info just ask

the one thing that does suck on the LX is the diff case design. If you brake a arm off your more than likely to brake the diff case cause the arm mount and diff case are moulded togethere. stupit design the arm mounts should be sepperate from the diff case

wow!I forgot about thread...huh...well I never got the lx...I got a turmoil...it was ok I put good servos in and kept the stock 26...now I got the 8b with my 8t...my ole lady aint tickled and thats expected...Im using the os ovb 21(I dont have those letters right)I'll race it first saturday night...got a great deal with a lot of tricky upgrades...and still getting together...will be done by saturday...I would had got to this point(getting)8b eventually...I run with some losi sponsorees and I'm by far not as slick as they are on the track although If they have issues out there and I keep clear I can find myself in a main...this will be one of my first official races with this 8b and I'm much more confident than with other buggy...good deals are out there and thats what I found........

Sorry for the late reply haven't been on the computer lately.

It dos not have bad pinch at all. My stock Force engine had more (befor it blew up). I have been running this engine a lot without any problems. I have used three different types of fuel and it is really easy to get the needles set right for each one. GREAT ENGINE

Thank you very much Dok. I'm going to buy one next weekend, I'm going to try to mod it up, I'll let you know how it goes when it is done.

Sounds good.. My one way bearing started slipping yesterday and I tore into the engine to fix the problem (this happens in every engine) and I noticed something not so good. On the bottom of the piston there was a piece of metal missing (a little flake) Found the flake inside out of the way (didn't damage anything) and put it back together. Still runs fine as it doesn't really get in the way of the ports and stuff.

It probably did this because I had a full speed collision with a Revo and the sudden stop in speed stressed it.

Lucky you!!!! Anyways, my buddy has an axial engine and he said you can get a standard backplate for it if you are using a starter box, under the assumption he used to work at my LHS this would be true??? I talked to the owner of the shop about this engine but forgot to ask him about the backplate.

Yes, You can buy a backplate for the engine.. They make three: Pull Start, Drill Start, and just a slandered one so you can use a starter box. I have been using a starter box with the pull start backplate though.
