well... ive had my LX comp for about 2 years today and i think the original servos and radio are just fine for normal driving and some racing. they have plenty of torque for what i do. i did upgraded to spektrum radio equipment the other day. expensive as a yacht though. the original ones are fine though. and no, you will not get smoked if you know how to drive. i beat a truggy with a .32 engine with my lx comp that has a .21 engine w/ 4wd since that is standard on them.

I'ts mostly driver not the buggy. By the way most higher end .21 engines will be faster than a .32 engine in top end, the .32 is designed for more torque in most cases!

well no s&%$ its 4wd.

But back on topic the lx one won't be very competative. The motor (force 28) is not great at all expessially if you wanna race and the servos dont have any torque. its a ok buggy but be prepared to upgrade and get a new engine.

Not a good choice for racing at all.
Sure you can beat someone with it if your a great driver but the car will be holding you back.
Why are you particularly looking at the LX? It is a VERY old design. There are better budget buggies for racing if price is an issue.
As a basher though its OK. Cheap to buy and cheap on parts

I love my Ofna LX1.. As of now it is the toughest car I have owned. I have NO problems with it.
I am running JR radio gear and an Axial engine, but other than that it's stock.

The Ofna Ultra LX1 is a little better than the other Ultras as it is the newest version. It has a better suspension ($100 in shocks/and different carriers) and then there are just the minor differences. I don't race (no track in my area) but I don't see why you couldn't. It is great at bashing but you might be better off getting a Hyper 7 for racing (and bashing for that matter). There is a 16 page thread that I started about the LX1 if you interested (there are some "Haters" in the first page though )

If you have any questions about it I would be gald to help[)]

i have the lx1 and i m happy with it, in the USA this buggy is very popular there with alot of hop ups, yeah it may be an old design but its still running, i agree that there are some better buggies out there but my advice is to go for what your LHS stocks, easy to get spares

I wouldn't recommend the OFNA LX's to ANYONE. Like others have said, there are lots of newer and better buggies in the beginner/low end RTR market.

musclecar64, you obvioulsy have never really seen or drove one. they are GREAT for racing and bashing but best for straight crusin'. i raced mine out at my local track which is pretty damn big and has lots of jumps. i hit a huge jump(at least 30 ft long and 25 ft hieght airtime) and landed right on my front tires and the steering linkage bassicly hit the chassie... HARD!!! my linkage from the servo to the wheels got a little bent but i was still able to finish the race in 2nd. i would reccomend this car to ANYONE who asks about buggys or Ofna.

Your FIRST buggy.............the buggy you learned on.......and had a misconseception that because it was "RTR" it was ready to go and race or bash......WRONG! NO buggy is a "RTR", everything is must be gone thru as as you learned. That doesn't make it a bad buggy by any means, just bad advertising by the manufacture.
