Hello,

I am thinking sombody out there knows the answer to this question. I am looking for plans for a Grumman Skyrocket. I have been unable to find anything through my search so I figured I would try to employ some help from readers here at RC Universe. I am looking to build something in the G23 / 26 or G38 size range. I saw a magazine article on one years ago, I am guessing 97 or 98 but I can't seem to find the magazine in my vast (messy) collection. For those unfamiliar the Skyrocket was a twin engine test bed built by Gramman that looked like and bulldog with wings. The twin radials stuck out in front of the front of the fuse and it had a tail like an ercoupe or B24 with a little dihedral in it. I have read that it was one of the fastest prop driven planes ever produced. If you know of anyone who has a good set of plans for this aircraft please let me know.

Thanks

I built a Laird Super Solution many years ago from their plans. It was originally a rubber powered model and I had to convert it to glow. You will probably have to do the same. At least they offer some of the plans in larger scales now.

Hello 103/17,

Sorry for the misinformation on the website,

I have not seen any of cleveland's plans, all i know is that they have quite a slection of models that we don't see often,

some of which are offered in multiple scales, I would have to assume that Cleveland Plans are as good as most, & should not pose

too big of a hurdle for a builder,

Their was a Grumman Skyrocket RTF on RCU a while back, it may have been 1/5 scale, it had two gas engines,

Hope this helps, 51-D GUY.

Bob Holman had a plan for a 68" model. I think a larger model was built and flown from a blowup of this plan. you might check with Holman and see what he has.

In the latter 1990's, the late Stinger Wallace of Lufkin, Texas flew a 120" span Skyrocket that was built from enlarged Holman plans and powered by two g-62's. There was an article about it in the June, 1996 issue of RC Modeler.

I will have to see if I can find that copy of RCM in the basement in my other totes..............I cant part with things, its a disease....
