Status: offline 		I am building a 1/4 scale PT19. For covering I am using Sig Koverall. I tried putting a piece of covering on a boared then ran thread across it like a lined pc of paper. I tried to use clear dope to "glue" the thread to the covering. Then I would have cut the covering in to 1/8 wide top to bottom this would give me strips with the thread glued at intervals along the strip. The clear dope didn't at as a glue. Any suggestions. By the way Koverall is great stuff. It is a bit of a hassle to put on but shrinks beautiflly. Wrinkles shrink right out. If you want a fabric covered appearance this is great stuff. The only negitive is the smell of the dope-Nothing new LOL!

Danny Gayhart of Poway California showed us a new method of fake stitches on his ¼ scale Cub. Danny attached the tapes with Poly-Brush, then applied the stitches with White Glue on top of the tapes. While completely opposite the full scale method, they look beautiful. Any white glue or aliphatic resin will work. Remember, you just want the hint of a stitch, not an obnoxious bulge in the tapes.

Just cut a "Tee" pin to the width you want the stitch and apply the glue about 1/2" apart for quarter scale. You only want a hint of the stitch, not a bold thread standing on top of the finishing tape.

Status: offline 		First of all, most people that do fake stitching use two large of a thread. My first time, I did, the next time I used some 6 pound fishing line. Looking for something .015 or smaller in diameter. Don’t over do the size of the stitch I have full instructions on my site on how to make the stitches. Also for the rib tape, take a look at www. Getstencils dot com. Gary makes pinked tape for different scales. The stuff looks and works great, look him up.
