Are the onboard telemtry ones any good ?

And one more question

CAn you put transmitters in a number of different cars. Will the unit keep records for a field of cars. So you could know who clocked the best lap time, ect.

Im new to all this, and to racing !

edit: I like the Nomadio. But im a bit confused about it. It says that it does lap counting, but I cant see any accessory you put on the track .... anyone know about the Nomadio lap counting/timing feature ?
