Has anyone looked into the new E-flite G90 or G110 gyros? My LHS has a very hard time keeping the GY240 in stock, but they have a few examples of both the G90 and G110 on hand, and they both retail for less than the GY240.

I've downloaded and looked through both manuals and they doesn't seem to be any different, electrically, than hooking up the GY240, except that they both have an optional aux control lead for switching between heading lock and standard rate modes. If you leave that lead disconnected, they default to heading lock mode, so the issues with the GY401 won't apply.

It might be worth experimenting with...especially at around three-fourths the price of the GY240.

A quick update...I acquired the G110 this afternoon (available at LHS for $70 plus tax). I'm going to drop it in tonight and see how it behaves. Watch this space...

How did it go with the G110 on the Axe CP? Did you have any problems hooking it up or getting the settings correct? I am getting the power light to come on (the gyro), but I am having some issues flying now. Kind of a newbie to all of this, did fly a Blade CX2 before, but am finding many differences on the settings. Neither manual shows how to properly set up this particualr model gyro to this particular heli. Any tips? I do not want to overadjust the gyro and have ANOTHER $70 go down the drain after crashing HARD.

Any help or tips from anyone. Thanks all!
