Hey this is the thread to discuss any of the Team Losi's XXX onroad line of cars, for example the xxx-s, xxx-r, xxx-s Brushless. Discuss anything you like about the cars and post up pics of your ride.

Cya,

From Brendon.v

Hey, im thinking of mounting my esc up, so || not = that way i have enough room to mount a fan in front of it. Does this affect the esc mounting it that way? Ive seen a guy do it in the post a pic of your drifter thread.

Hey i got a Team Losi XXX-S and i raced my car at full speed today for about 3-5mins to check if the new esc would get hot to see if i need a fan for it or something. It turns out the esc was cold but the motor was pretty darn hot, almost burn me so i defiantly need a heatsink. Do i need a heatsink or heatsink and fan to keep it cool or warm. Ive never ran a car without a heatsink so i dunno how much of a difference it makes. How much of a difference does a heatsink make and how much on top of that does a fan make?

Hey surjer,

I dont know if you did but you might want to relocate the reciever wire,

It might cause glitching,

BTW_ how do you like the Velineon

I dont have any video of it with the 3S lipo in it but we strapped a GPS unit to the top of it and clocked it at 68mph. Im sure some days its faster than that! To tell you the truth that velineon is WAY cool. I smoked a nitro car out at the flying field and it was a blast! (He then proceeded to run over my car with his) It was REALLy funny (was an accident) but the spoiler popped off of mine and yeah, just really funny.. I took it to the carpet races with me the other day but they dont have a modified class. Only stock class.

I will hunt down my youtube video of it on a crappy 6cell 2400 pack...

(The velineon is nice cause I can run both the NiMH batteries AND the lipo's! 2 or 3 cell's.. On - 3 cell its just WAY too fast and my radio doesnt have expo in it so its only good for high speed drag races! (Im not a very good driver yet tho) Im pretty new...

yeh im going to upgrade to something like a Team Orion Core or something soon, gear it to go about 40-45mph. Thats fast enough for me, 68mph is just crazy, i would hate to crash it at those speeds. I just ordered a 3 racing Heatsink and fan from ebay and i got a new esc now so when i get the new heatsink ill take some pics and post em up.

I am new and I dont understand gearing. I know right now this thing will burn the tires off the pavement and is really fast at the top end. Would be kewl if I could gear it to do wheelies!

I'm looking at picking one of the XXX-S cars used, for about $120, no radio equipment, a 14T Mod motor, ESC, slicks (or tires that're burned off to the point of slicks), new shell, no servo. is it worth it, or should I tell him to bring it down in price? or just look at a new TC3 for about $110 more?

Not sure if this answer your question but I would buy it at that price. (Of course I paid full price for mine @ $349 packages as the Drift-R kit...
