i have a edge 540 40 size. i put in a os 61 and installed a pitts muffler. i measured and cut the holes for the pipes, but cant slide the cowl on. tips???? tricks???

You may want to make a larger squarish area at the bottom for the pipes.

Another option which I've used, is to make an elongated ovoid cutout like "II" so that you can first "hook" the pipes into place then move the cowl on over the crankshaft.
