I am new to electrics. I have an old super sportster EP that I have never flown but is ready and a copperhead aviation stiffy that I have been flying with a hobbico quick field charger and thunderpower 3c pack. Is there a "best" charger to charge all types of batterys? Will different brands of chargers work with different packs?

Look at Tower and Horizon Hobby, they have several chargers. Read the specs and determine which is right for what you want.

I have a Triton (now replaced by the Triton2 ), which will charge just about every type of battery, NiMH, NiCd, LiPo, Li-Ion, Pb. It only charges one pack at a time, though, so if you want to charge multiple packs LiPo packs at once, then the PolyCharge4 would be a better choice (but then it ONLY charges LiPo packs up to 4S, and doesn't do NiMH or NiCd).

There are several other charger models as well, you just have to look at their features and prices and determine which fits your needs best.
