I have had my Stryker for a bit now and before it, I had a gas trainer. The maiden flight went great and after getting over some nervousness had a blast with it. I ran it around a few times and practiced landing, which wasn't 1/2 as difficult as some make it out to be. Well on about the 3rd flight I was hit by a glitch (Similar to what took out my gas trainer.) I had no control of the plane, and had my 1st crash landing. The plane did actually quite well. I used a little ca and some packing tape and it is ready to go again. I have been flying it and have had a few other glitches but none that crashed it. I want to get a DX6i for the plane to prevent any further glitch crashes. Can someone give me some info on how to swap out the receivers? I have never owned a programmable setup before, nor have I removed the back hatch of the plane yet. Would it be as simple as swapping out the Park Zone receiver with the Spektrum one?

Yes that is how easy it is just take out the old and put in the new. Some people even put the new one on top of the old just so they don't have to rip up the plane to get the new one in there. It is really easy.

Houston - What Giddy said is right. The only differenece is the Rx, on the DX6i the usual RX is the AR6200 full range unit which is brilliant, no aerial trailing lead, just 2 little wires sticking out of each box. Yes, that right, there are 2 small RX boxes connected by a 3-wire strand that is about 6in. long. This enables the Rx to pick up the signal at whatever attitude or angle the plane is flying at - brilliant idea but it just takes up a little more space than the usual single box RX. No big deal for a great set. You can then shop around for other compatible units (DSM2) and save just a few bucks, but the AR6200 is the best you can get. Oh, and the manual is like War and Peace, thick as your finger.

TIP for the DX6i - when you read up on how to programm the settings, when you have time print/write them out on a piece of A4 for the important instructions, laminate it in plastic and use a little tape to hold it to the back of the set or somewhere handy. Then, when you are at the field it saves you thumbing through the whole manual!!!

Good flying......
