Hi Rob, in response to your PM.
Thanks Pete(971wright)...Ok public liability might be a problem, we can only thank the E.E.C. for all of us suffering over regulation. However, getting together on a camp site and having some tank fun still sounds like a great idea. The thought of some Tank Battles, a great BBQ and some Beers whilst sharing the thoughts of our day sounds astonishing to me...O.K. so it might not be Bovington, but having said that, it doesn't really matter where it is.

Best Regards,

Nick.

Strickly speaking you will need public liability insurance were ever there could be public, then the other thing is if you play with the BB firing tanks, now thats a whole different matter gets worse believe me

So if any of you have a large back yard or access to a warehouse?

The last time we battled with the Tamiya's was in Nottingham, we hired a village hall, and setup some building, bridges and even had a fog machine for that early in the morning look I'll see if I can find the pictures

Cool Thats the idea guy's
but one problem i see is that only one sherman had the TBU in the first set of pics

and you had a Tiger ,King tiger and a sherman With the TBU in the next lot of pics
so how do you I/R battle and do you have rules and regs laid down

Do you allow H/LONGS with The DBU in on the fun I noticed there was a bulldog in one of the shot's But no TBU fitted That i could see[)]

Nice dio shot's though[)]

thanks for the pic's

Rob

There were usually 2 shermans and 1 pershing on those battles generally it was 3 on 3 the rest of the ARV's were there for atmosphere and places for the allies to duck and dive

We had no rules, we just used the various setting on the TBU (and a sense of fair play, except Bob and his indestructable Tiger, now that was 2006 and the jury is still out on that one), as for factoring in Hen Long, we didn't there wasn't any, for my 2p worth to many rules takes the fun out of it, but the Tigers did have gear reduction sets in them, to give the shermans at least one advantage.

I hope that helps.

And incase you are wondering you have sorted sparked that interest up again so we may rent the village hall again, we'll keep you posted (gotta kit out the KT's now)

Nice one Rob
maybe we could do battle some time
I know the DBU and DBC are battle proven against the TBU
So once we have things finalised here Let battle commence

Regards Rob

I still have a Sherman and a Pershing along with Tigers I and II no battle system in the Tiger I it's far to precious for that at the battle day Robert is talking about there where also three Stug IV a Panzer IV a Gepard and a Lopard 1A4 along with two Kubelwagens and a Pak 40 plus several T34 and an SU85 there would have been at least 4 Sherman's and 3-4 Pershing's, Rules are for wimps and if you want to come along one day with a Heng Long why not

Cheers for the offer rivet might take you up on that one day

as to the rules i think that term might be a bit strong but battle guidelines sounds better to me

The general idea for our club was to get like minded people together and hold a serious battle day
Yes for fun and also to I/R battle
now the way i see it the guidelines need to be implace as to the reason
I turn up with my modded tank and have emitters all over it hidden so no one else can see One-shot BOOM
sorry guys your all out I-WIN No guidelines I still win Guidelines I get stopped from doing it in the first place and have a Jolly nice day out with the rest of the lads (sort of happens in real warfare too LOL[)] )

I now that you might be thinking I'm a RULE BOOK Junkie but in my HO the guidelines are there to ensure fairness at all levels and tank ability Not just an all out tank parade

All would be welcome Tamiya/Henglong and bandai (This list Goes on as you can imagine) The TBC and DBC would run side by side

of course even Non I/R tanks would be included and would have there own battles or whatever the operator wanted at the time wouldnt want anyone left out of the fun

All The Best Rob

If any of you guys from the UKTC are up for the meet in september come along you would be more than welcome

Hi Rob Sounds spot on to me as I have said in the P.M. if anyone turns up with BB. firing tank it should be standard ammo that is .12grm dont want someone shooting holes in my tiger the metal BBs (they would struggle to shoot my panzerIII its got steel schurzen). Like you say just basic rules

best regards pete
