all the clubs ive found mainly cater for 1/6 scale and the 1/16 as mainly a second venture
would like to see some battling going on IE infra red and the like

I would certainly like to visit an existing club in my area (Yorkshire) if there are any.
Rob mate, sadly Wiltshire is a bit far away from me.

your right mate with the distance problem and the price of our fuel
but had thought about a yearly battle or the like taking the group to bovington for a battle and meet-up
hopefully when there big model expo is on usually around september ish

then if you had enough interest in your area to fragment and stay in touch via the internet and the yearly meet which could also take us to that museum in the old POW camp in yorkshire???

just some thought's

Rob

I like your line of thought Rob, especially incorporating a Tank Battle with a model Expo. It'll certainly give all Brit tankers something to think about.

Well done mate

Nick

I have'nt been to Bovvy for 10 years now. I can't believe how quick time passes, my daughters were 9 and 6 years old then, and perfect. Now they are very demanding and spend ridiculous amounts of money on clothes and shoes. I'm due to go down next in July. My wife and her Mum and Dad are having a week together in Dorset and I'm popping down for a couple of days, work permitting. When I was there last they didn't have the turret on the Tiger and also had the fullsize Tiger replica from "Saving Private Ryan".

Nick.

I'd certainly consider attending a meet with you guys. It would be great to talk to fellow tankers.

WOW sounds like we could be getting somewhere with this
Even if we only had 3-4 people would be great

the model expo is normally around september-october time and is usually well advertised but for some strange reason not by the guys at bovvie it usually appears in the military modelling mag so will check there[)][)]
normally the expo at the NEC is a week later [)]

This is a great idea!

I was thinking of posting something similar myself - there seem to be a lot of UK tankers on here, but all the UK tank clubs Im aware of are primarily 1/6th based

Im in Essex, just outside London, but even Wiltshire is day-trip distance, if i can fit it around work. Any other brits out there?

PS - the Yanks on the board are going to laugh when they see us debating the difficulties of organising a meet where theres a hundred miles or two of travelling involved! Driving from one end of Texas to the other for a meet would be like driving to Bovington from Scotland...

Its great to see you guys are trying to start somthing. My wife is British and we travel to Hitchen about every 3-5 years to visit family. If it works out I just might have to bring some tanks next time

Cheers,

Steve P.
