I'm not sure about the before the letter

Status: offline 		Well I know the D= delta wind, I forget what the Y means, it boils down to the KV rating each wind determines the KV of the motor which in short determines RPMs. It also determines how many amps it can handle
That's about the extent of my undrstanding of it, maybe someone else can chime in and explain it better
