I did the heat cycle method, i've had very good results with that method,

Thing I liked the best about this motor, is that it responded very well to changes on the needle, Some motors you turn the highspeed 1/2 turn and there is no change in the motor.

I went with a low end pipe with this thinking, If the motor has a strong bottom, why not play on its strongest ability, and change the gearing to match,





I own 2 of these Cl7B engines... Anyways it is not a bottom end motor by any means, it has extremely high port timings, and has a crank timed like a onroad motor...... running the EFRA pipe you run is likely severely bottling up that engines full potential... switching to a 086/short manifold will likely unleash more power from bottom to top on that motor....... As I say that motor is timed high and built to scream....

hmmm... is that a blanket statement or actual experience ?

I read the JP4 pipe is designed to help middle and top end and some top
drivers have tested all 4 JP pipes on this motor and found great results.

Status: offline 		I seen a guy running a JP-2 on one at our track, I thought it killed the motor. The motor screamed .. just didn't have the rev up mine had with the 2056 pipe. I'll give it a shot though.

Status: offline 		Well, this news really blows because I have my new CL7B coming today
and I also bought a new JP4 because AMain had almost all Sirio pipes
on backorder. My buddy runs the JP4 on his .28 Picco and it seems to
run it's butt off.

Maybe I should send it back (unopened) and look for another online
shop to find a sirio pipe ?

086 will outperform JP-4.... 2 totally different goals for each pipe.... 086 is oldschool before noise regulations when they could design a pipe for power with no concern for noise regulations..The 086 is a very old pipe and since its design many levels of noise regulations have been enforced, the JP-4 is designed for the latest and most stringent noise standards ever... So in order to meet noise regulations the pipe has to be choked back and restricted, which is definitely going to sacrifice some HP..... If i lived in Europe and I was forced to use EFRA pipes I would consider a JP-4, but here in North America we can run the older more powerful pipes like the 086 and 053...

Run what you wish, but at least now you know the differences in these pipes, and the design goals when these pipes were made....... If its any use to you Adam at AB Mods has dynoed dozens of motors and as a 95% rule the 086 pipe is the king, just play with header length to adjust where the powerband will be...

But don't get me wrong a JP-4 will work quite fine on this motor, it just wont open up quite as well as an 086 will..the JP4 will also be much much quieter too..the mileage may go to the 086 tho.....

of the tracks I go to aren't terribly long. Plus, this pipe is so darn
pretty !!! I got the chrome one.

Status: offline 		The cl7b sti is a long stroke meaning more low end grunt, it also has great top end. Check out rc tech in the str thread, Ryan Lutz runs this engine and uses a spacer between the header and pipe to tame the low end down a bit.
Id stay away from a low end pipe as this engine already has more than enough.

Back plate ?
Carb ?
The screw that holds the carb ?
What is the other needle for ?
I bought p3 ultra hot glow plugs for it like recommended.

Should I run my Gen2 30% while breaking in ?

Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm a noob and don't want this motor going bad quick.

Status: offline 		the Sirio really isn't that long of a stroke... it only has 0.09 mm longer stroke then a Picco P7R or RB C6...it also shares port timings with P7R. very nice motor, the sleeve design is extremely similar to a GRP .21..the sleeves could have been produced in the same factory as they share identical tooling marks in the ports ( Which are very unique to GRP) ...The Sirio has slightly more aggressive timing, slightly larger ports and much more lightened crank.... All in all the Cl7B is a very advanced engine, i am impressed

ROAR rule along with pro series rules mandate you run a pipe thats not loud. I forget what the deciples are but most pipes made are legal for major event. Local tracks may not mind, however the roar or pro series will.

Back Plate?
Carb?
Pinch bolt that holds the carb on?
The bolt that holds the high speed needle onto the carb ?
