Thinking of buying this motor, anybody know the benefits or drawbacks ?
Seems like most of the good racers are using it lately.

Its insane, and just right for a truggy. Great low end torque, due to the long stroke, great top end, run a hot or super hot OS turbo plug. It does come with a standard button head too, but most run turbo. This is the sirio clb7 sti engine, I would think that the standard clb7 version would be a strong runner but the sti has the extra touches.
Im running mine with the sirio 2013 pipe.

Thanks for the input and confirming my next purchase of a motor.
That is, until the next best thing comes along !

I'll definitely look into the sti version of it.

The '08 version of that engine will be coming out soon.
I here it will have a ceramic rear bearing, larger lower
con. rod bushing and a bigger con. rod pin on the crank.
Also the case will be powdercoated in black.

2008 version is already out, I orderd mine from amain, thinking I was getting the 2007 but I was sent the 2008 model.

here is the link

I'm using a Sirio S7 plug, amain was out of hots. But this plug is working great

I am also using the sirio 2056 pipe, (the baseball bat shaped one)

This engine is fast, It replaced a .28 engine in my truggy, The sirio motor throws my truck over every jump the .28 could but with an 11 min run time, with the stock vent.

Why does A Main list it as a "competition buggy engine" and how does one know which model
08 (black case) or 07 (silver case) version they're gonna get ?

Best pipe for it ?

That I don't know, I was happy i got the 08,

People will say get a high end pipe to help with the top end since its a bottom end motor,
But i figure why not help the engines strongest point, so I went with a low end pipe.
My track only has 1 long straight, think its like 180 to 200 feet, and the engine/pipe combo never tops out

I'm using the Sirio 2056 pipe,

I would like to try that pipe out on a few of the motors
that I own. How does it sound and how is the top end?
It sure has a shape of it's own.

Its actually kinda quite compared to the JP pipes, it is race legal, but has that nice pinging sound when the motor is reving high,

I'll get a video up this weekend, maybe I'll get some video tonight, its practice night at the track

I'm confused because one person said it is an all around great motor with low AND top end
power then one person says it only has low end power.

That was why I asked about the sirio 2056 pipe.
Because different pipes and header lenghts will
alter where in the r.p.m. range a motor puts out
it's torque and h.p.. I'm sure that if you put an
086 pipe on this motor it will keep pulling way
up in the r.p.m. range.

So besides getting the motor, pipe and manifold, what else will I need to
get for a motor change?

Do I need to buy new clutch parts (bell and shoes) and if so which ones ?

Dumb questions I know but I have no idea about switching out and what works
with what or if the new engine comes with clutch parts.

Slayerphonics, did you ever get video ?

Mines set up with ofna shoes and flywheel and a 13/14 bell (vented also ofna). Use new shoes, springs and bearings, bell can be used as long as its not overly used. Grab the blue aluminum shoes, 2 gold springs and one black spring.
I just grabbed the last one fron a main, I talked to the live support through there chat and they dont have the black case ones in, and wasnt sure when they would get more in, black case or silver. Its a insane engine, would highly recommend the 2013 pipe.

cool thanks Nascar dad. I just grenaded my current engine on the track today.
Talk about no compression? I can roll my motor over by hand. No Pinch
whatsoever. OUCH!

I have no idea why guys at thrack are trying to talk me out of getting this motor?

If one good thing came outta today is I got plenty of experience pulling the motor
to reseal the carb and worked on my clutch (which the bearing was blasted apart)
