I am not sure if anyone has come across pics or information on this charger. The website link below will show pictures and if you use babblefish you can translate. If anyone knows anything about this charger or the cd-2000 model please post the information. The quality and features of the 5000 look great:

.01-10amp charge
.01-10amp discharge
1-36 cells

How come no one has any first hand knowlege of this charger.

I for one am tired of all these flaky buttons on the main stream chargers like the SuperTurbo.........the SuperNova and possibly even the Triton.

Give me a quality fast charger.

The webpage indicates a price tag of 60,000 yen and a conversion to USD by bloomberg

60000 JAPANESE YEN (JPY) = 505.8595 US DOLLAR (USD)

Ok.. Since I cant find any info on this charger, I have simply ordered one. Did drain the hobby account, but as a gizmo lover I could not resist this little gadget. Hope it does the job..It better at that price :-)
I'll bring a full report when I have played with it. Should have it in a 10-14 days..

Later

Charles..

I ordered mine through a Norwegian company.(www.duckson.no) They only got 3 on there first shipment of this charger. I was lucky to get the last they had on order from Japan. They claim that the shipment is underway, and should be here i a week or so. Hope this holds water...

I*ll promise a full report on this gizmo. It looks very promising, all info I have on it comes from "funny" translations through babblefish.com...

Later..

.01 to 10A?!!! Whoa 10 amps?! Now that's a lot of juice. Only looks like it has two ports, though.

It kind of looks like something I saw one of the robot guys messing with at the RC Expo.

Hello,

I would love to find this charger as well. I contacted Futaba USA and they said it does not exist even though I gave them the link in the above posts.

I was searching the web for CDR 5000 and found another sighting of this beautiful beast.

So, Futaba USA have not info on this marvel.. That`s strange...

Anyway, from what I have made of it, its a 2 port charger. It can take care of TX-or-RX and DX (drive-pack?) at the same time. Sad it cant deal with at least 3 packs. Anyway, I have my hopes that I might play with this box in a week or so.
Ill keep you all posted.
