I have a newly built GP Extra 300 40 sized nearly ready for the air. I have a Tower Hobbies .75 on the front with a 12 x 6 APC prop, plane has an all up weight of about 6 1/2 lbs. Out of curiosity, what kind of speed should I expect out of such a package? I realize that with other props I could gain some speed, but I am not really a speed freak, just wondering what to expect with what I have. One thing that I know to expect is unlimited vertical! Anyone else with a similiar package? Any suggestions or precautions before the maiden this weekend?

I will try to add some pics of the build, however my laptop at home decided to release its magic white smoke (my understanding is what makes it tick! ) Thanks ahead of time!

My Thrust/HP spreadsheet says 75 mph and 10 1/2 pounds thrust.

You may be a little underproped. A 13 x 6 would give you 70 mph and 12 1/2 pounds thrust. You won't really notice that 5 mph, but the added thrust will make it rocket out of a hover.

Thanks, I forgot about that HP/Thrust Calculator. I've tried a 13 x 6 with ok results, the motor just wants to scream with the 12 x 6. I'll play around with a few when I get it going. Thanks again.
