I'd like to make the following question:

What steps should I take to sucesfully download and use new color trims, planes or fields from the knifeedge swap pages.

I actually know how to download them but I just can't find where should they be installed or if I am missing steps.

Thanks!

Alfredo.

i don't have the G4, but i think you can just import it.
it should be in the first tab table.

You can also use GIMP to create your own color scheme.
Gimp has layer and smart sissor tools. It can easily trace the out lines of model, then you can just paste it the original skins.
basiaclly take profile pictures of the your model's fuselage, top and bottom of the wing.
Then you'll have your model to fly in it.

Or you can down load profile imges of heli canopies from the verious custom canopies houses

You can also import equirectangular panorama images as raw images. Then build buffers or set in objects for them.
To get other sceneries from RC-SIM for Aerofly or Reflex. You just have to add back the bottom portion that's been cropped off
They're at 8160x3060..increas the canvas size to 8160x4080 ..this will give it a 2 to 1 ratio (360x180)
You can easily use Artweaver to do this.

Another good source for Equirectangular panorama is Flickr.com. These pano are complete. So you don't
have to wait for someone to post a scenery to build up your collection. You'll find
veriouse sizes. Generally anything above 3000x1500 would work. it depends on the quility of the image.
You can scale it up to 8192x4096...if you wish... Gimp dose a good jog at this. It'll scale up the images without
lossing quality. Then you can shapen it a bit. You 'll noitce it takes 500mb to process the image.
You'll end up with a .jpg images at 20mb
If you save it under .bmp...it'll be 90mb
Artweaver dosn't do as good of a job. There's plenty of nice pano from FlickR in the 8000x4000 range
some are even at 10000x5000.

You can also get Huggins for free...if you want to give making your own panorama a shot.
Huggins also comes with a pano viewer.

Or you can click on the preview of flickr before you decide to download a pano.

here's a kind of original of the freestlye scenery. The freestly dosn't have objects surrounding the field.
However the original had a half runway and a shadow of the photographer.
I simply layered the original and the freestlye using gimp....No runway and shadow but there objects

and a pano of HALO..just for fun..i got this pano from Flickr the other day.

What steps?
You've already taken them.

The files you download are ready to be assimilated into G4 by G4.

Open G4 and go into just as you would to fly.
Cursor up to the left and click on Simulation > Import > RealFlight Archive then browse the wizard to wherever you downloaded those planes, fields, etc.
select what you want to have in your G4 and click on install

BTW, you download them anywhere you wish. No special place needed. Because you're going to walk G4 there with that browser.

Remember to delete them after you've installed them in G4.
