Ever wanted an inexpensive uncomplicated dolly system for your deltas?

SOLVED

Flyboy Dave -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/23/2008 9:51:54 PM)

...a high speed dump truck....of course !!! [:)]

Vic, you should have thought of that. [sm=red_smile.gif]

soarrich -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/24/2008 4:53:14 AM)

Funny thing is it would probably work!

vicman -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/24/2008 3:42:35 PM)

It needs some raised letter tires and a checked racing stripe.

That or a revver's logo on the door.

[:D]

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/24/2008 6:06:57 PM)

Funnier yet is I bought and rigged it specifically to be my Delta Dolly! I am gonna try it...Looks like fun anyhow.

I have my Augered Rossi-60 and APC 10x10 on this Phenom so I do not think a hand launch would suffice.

Crazy4Flight -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/24/2008 9:04:52 PM)

Y not build one you can land on too?[sm=bananahead.gif]

Giant Aeromaster with Walker 3.2... [)]

Remove the wings, set your plane on the cabanes and go for launch.

Dolly can be taxied back to the pits under it own power! [:D]

SpeedBoy -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/26/2008 7:16:54 AM)

cncswiss1 -> RE: Delta Dolly (4/26/2008 2:51:04 PM)

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/1/2008 3:53:02 AM)

Nice Crazy! You Crazy! LOL [:D]

I will try the plastic dump-truck next time there is no-one at the field....Or maybe at the next Revver's thing-

Here is the Dolly I made based on Cobratraxxas delta dolly design. (Mine is probably not as nice but I had 1/2 of the stuff....)

vicman -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/2/2008 2:38:18 AM)

Is that a tuned dent in the tuned pipe?[X(]

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/2/2008 3:58:59 AM)

It sure is! That is where I measure my pipe stuff. Not to the widest part of the pipe but to the DENT in the pipe- [:D]

Crazy4Flight -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/2/2008 9:38:54 PM)

tuned dent made the change from f flat to B-Sharp

FASTCRASHER -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/10/2008 3:49:38 AM)

razor... so did u try out the dolly
how did it go???

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/10/2008 7:08:35 AM)

Hey FASTCRASHER, actually I have not....I am hoping to get out for a couple hours this weekend... I tested it in the drive-way but it is like a bad shopping cart, it turns right pretty hard- [:)] I need to make some bends I think before a take-off roll.

I have always wanted to get something reliable since one person hand launches are a challenge even for trimmed out aircraft. CObratraxxas had good luck with his so I thought I would throw one together.

I will keep you posted!
James

FASTCRASHER -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/10/2008 8:21:46 AM)

[:)] point it 90 deg. left to the wind and let her go!!!!...lol[:D]

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/10/2008 10:43:20 PM)

Will do [;)]

FASTCRASHER -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/13/2008 10:30:50 AM)

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/14/2008 5:46:53 AM)

LOL- I got pretty sick this past week so nothing...

I know the system works because Cobratraxxas has one that he has used a bit. I modeled mine loosely after his.

If you have an extra $70, get the UT for the K&B-48 [;)]

evan-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/14/2008 5:10:53 PM)

Ultra Thrust pipe....

Dolly for my Twin Outlaw... it has to be steerable....

Razor-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/15/2008 5:06:15 AM)

Sweet!

Why does it have to be steerable? I do not see a servo or anything, does the front wheel assembly just caster?

evan-RCU -> RE: Delta Dolly (5/15/2008 1:33:50 PM)

Why steerable? do these things ever go straight? Engine torque? The tail fits in the slot ant the rudder goes in the tail wheel bracket... Works very well.
