It's still a Yak-11, just converted to single seat configuration.

But seriously .. I don't have any specifics on the Corsair, you can ask the C-ARF guys, I am sure they can tell you more. I can say from seeing it in action for two days now that it's beautiful, the folding wings are really cool, it's perfect for the RCS 250 radial, and it (and Andreas as the pilot) flys really really well!!!

I think my Bearcat needs a stable-mate

Status: offline 		The wind kicked up at times.  I was there today as well.  I missed the Wyvern but I am heading back tomorrow.  Here is an in-flight of John Boyko's Pitts S-1.  He was leading in his class after the first round.  He crashed this plane two weeks before Top Gun.  I was actually at the field after it happened. He rebuilt the front end, repainted it, and was ready to go in under two weeks.

Naaah, It has not kicked up yet....Just the normal 15-20 mile per hour wind across the runway at varying angles simultaneously. Just the typical Top Gun Breeze

What you should remember is that Top Gun is not a Warbird contest. It is a Scale Modelling contest. The Laser 200 has just as good a chance of winning as does any other model, if it's built to the documentation, and flown in a prototypical manner. Last year, a Piper Cub came very close to winning. Jets already have a handicap imposed to counter their natural tendancy to handle the wind better. You can have the best (most scalelike) model in attendance, but if you can't handle the crosswinds, you won't do very well. We had an F-104 that lost his heading control on the first day, crossed the deadline, and got a zero flight score. It hasn't been out of the tent since. Beautiful airplane, but barely in control from rotation to touchdown. It was a bear to fly in full scale as well. I think that the only reason that it had vestigal wings at all was to keep the Manned Spaceflight Center from claiming it as one of theirs.
