Thanks for posting images. I noticed an image of Barry Raborn's F-84G early on. How did Barry do in static?

Thanks again for taking the time to do this! ! ! !

Unbelievable!! I came in to see if there were any new photos (thanks for the pics of the BAE Hawk!), and counted no less than 20 guys viewing this thread. It's like its December, 1941 and we are all huddled around the radio trying to get the latest news on Pearl Harbor....

Yeah thats because there is really not any good coverage of this event on the net anywhere, wish there was as I really like watching these beautifull birds.
I am hoping too that someone is posting some videos as that would be an added bonus..

Wow....yeah i have never seen so many guys gathered around drooling over these TG pics ! The one that did it for me was the p47 Jug with the ammo magazines and feed chutes..amazing. My dad served in the RNZAF over in the pacific (Bouganville..Green island) in 1945..he bought back some bits an pieces with him ...one of those 'bits' was a piece of stainless steel feed chute from a crashed Corsair with a spot-welded label saying 'left gun # 1'. Now i know where that piece was located !
Thanks again for the pics guys.
cheers Pat

Those asking about about Barry's F-84, I talked to him today before the 2nd round of flying and I believe he told me he got a 93.5 on static. ( He made the remark is was about upper middle of the pack) They docked him for some minor stuff, 3 views were off a little, Gear doors opening a lil farther than scale. Really minor stuff, but then again.... this is TOP GUN, every little detail is what counts.

Thanks
Sean

Had dinner with PJ (and Dino) serveral times this week.

He is in the middle of the pack. He seems to be getting hit rather hard by the judges.

This is a photo of Johnny's Hawk at FLA JETS. I was wondering if he was flying it at TOP GUN this year. Thanks for the Hawk pics Evil, but I'm afraid that wasn't Johnny's Hawk.

Barry fought with the doors earlier for about 14 hours before his retracts ended up being
too weak to do the job. The maiden had to be with the gear down. He traded them out
with I beleive the swept wing 84's retracts and rushed the redo so it doesn't surprise me
he didn't score above 97 that's typically required to be in the hunt.

Considering its virtually impossible to win any scale contest, much less TG with your flight
scores....hope the pack was tighter than normal. Usually a 98+ static is required to bring
home the bacon. Obviously, I would like to see an "el natural" aluminum finish shine... : )

Hi KC36
I know the owner and I also know why it crashed. I was heart broken whern I heard what had happened to it as Dave Matthews ( the owner) put a hell of alot of time into it. However a good static score would be some consolation.

So doea anyone know what he got and where he came in his group.

Mike
