I'll be there each day. I live within commuting distance. I judge scale outline for team scale. I'll be wearing a Waco Brotherhood shirt tomorrow. Look me up. I'll be around Barbee's tent.

I notice that you didn't get any shots of the Wild Child F-104 either.....I was looking for a place to hide. [:@]

Hey, Bill .. hard to take pictures of the B'Cat while I'm flying it! How about you get some for me tomorrow!! I did like your shot of it on the grass in front of my tent.

:-)

Nice pictures guys!

Veltro -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 4:29:55 AM)

Thanks for the pics, guys. That A-4 is beautiful. Easy to mistake for the real deal. Looks like they understand how to fly it right, too. Brings back a lot of great memories from when the Blues flew the Scooter.

Alpenglider -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 12:13:30 PM)

Hi Dave!

Can you provide me more details about the big Corsair Mr. Gietz from Comp Arf is flying?
Will this be a new kit offered by Comp Arf ?

Best regards

Thomas

mr_matt -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 7:19:15 PM)

I think that Corair answers my questions about a kit big enough to take a Moki 250 CC radial

lastresort -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 7:56:06 PM)

The moki did a great job on the big corsair.I was impressed with the performance and it sounded great.

dorjes -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 8:59:57 PM)

We appreciate the pictures , guys ! Keep them coming.

Thanks a lot for pics guys, keep them coming.

TJR1 -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 9:37:35 PM)

Thank you for posting pics[:D]! I've been wanting to attend for several years now, but just haven't been able to get the time off for some reason or another. Maybe next year[:o].

Flanker -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 11:01:33 PM)

Check out the tx in Andreas' hands in the photo with the folded Corsair wings. Doesn't the gold remind you of the old Futaba G-series radios?

[sm=lol.gif]I thought it was an ACE TX!

Here's today's take. Sorry that they are not all warbirds, but I was taking shots of everything there. You don't have to look at the civil aviation models. Mitch Epstein's B-17 put in a great flight, and the shot with the 17, and the Laser 200 in the same shot was close. I just wish I could get that kind of shot when I want to.[8D]

More

Stickbuilder -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 11:18:10 PM)

More. By the way, the last couple of photo's show what looks to be counter rotating props on a turboprop hawker Sea Fury. They Are, and They Do!

More Tomorrow.

JSF-TC -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 11:47:45 PM)

It's not a Sea Fury, it's a Westland Wyvern. Both were Royal Navy Carrier Borne planes from the 50's.

Beautiful models.

Paul

Tempest-RCU -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/24/2008 11:48:30 PM)

Thanks for posting the pictures Bill and Dave! It must be awesome over there :)

Hey Bill, I believe that last plane you posted is Dave Wigley's Westland Wyvern. From what I recall, one of those props is a freewheeling prop and the other is driven by a gas engine.

Do either of you have any info on the LA-5/7 I saw in one of the pictures? Is it from the Don Smith plans?

Thanks again for the awesome photos!

Paul

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/25/2008 12:09:14 AM)

Thats not a La, its a Yak-3 converted from a Yak-11. They will be available in the US shortly. You can get them now from England, but the way the US dollar is, you are going to be paying a fortune. Our tent (I'm crew for Mitch, the fine fellow flying the B-17 shown dropping bombs) is right next to the Yak-3. I have a bunch of images of it and will post them later tonight after dinner. Nothing better than a bunch of RC'ers out eating and drinking!

Thus far only three real crashes.

1.) A Brazilian built MiG-15 stuffed it hard the first day. TOtal loss, all the pieces are sitting in a trash can outside the tent.
2.) A wonderful hand built early british bomber, Vickers Wesley with a massive wingspan (I think over 120 inches) he said he lived local and was going home to fix the minimal damage.
3.) A smaller P-80 that didn't make it on take off sheard the gear off and rolled a bit in the grass. Massive loss.

bosssman -> RE: Top Gun 2008 Photo's (4/25/2008 12:18:32 AM)

That in-flight shot of the B17 with its bombay doors open is something straight out of 12 O'clock High, only the illusion is spoiled by that "thingamajig" stunt plane off to its left. Outstanding pics so far!! Keep 'em coming for us SoCal boys!!.
