Hi

I just got my Python delivered today. Overall, I am very happy with it minus a couple issues. First, the lower cowl on the left side edge where it meets the fuse is uneven. It looks like it was sanded too much in one spot and now creates an uneven gap between the cowl and fuse in that one spot. Also, the nose of the cowl buckles out when bolted together. It is very noticable when you look at the baffles and the front edge where the two halfs meet. The second issue is the fit of the canopy. It looks like the rear former was alittle to tall, causing an uneven fit and the top of the lexan canopy looks like it has a small " dip" right before it meets the former instead of a nice smooth line. If these were issues I could fix without much trouble, I would not even post this thread. The problem is I would need to reglass the eneven spot in the cowl and repaint it to get an even fit and that does not fix the buckling problem . In regards to the canopy, I don't know how to fix the uneven fit without damaging the lexan. I am posting some pics of the problem areas. Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is one of the uneven fit where the canopy meets the fuse. The rest of the the cowl fits perfect.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I think you need a new canopy. Does your cowl have the Verfied sign on it? It's hand marked!

Please email me your info and where you purchased the plane, name, address. I'll take care of it.
No need to do extra work on the canopy, it looks like a defect!

Here'e my email address qqsaircraftsupport@gmail.com

Thank you,
Reza

I would like to mention that Reza has been extremely helpful with the few issues I have had. I could not ask for quicker or better service. The plane is going together very easy and the rest of the plane is top notch.

I am always impressed with the customer support that QQ gives you guys in the US, fortunatly my QQ Yak was perfect out of the box despite having it shipped over from QQ in the US, good packaging, good service and a perfectly flying airframe what more could you want.

Mike

Hey Reza, just finished my son's Python and had no issues but the frail LG which you took care of, Thank you. The cowl went on perfectly, but I was wondering about any upper cowl support to the firewall, does it need any? or does it connect only to the lower cowl section. Reza thanks for being ontime with all these responses, I'm sure it's a hair pulling experience LOL
Thank you

Thank you Frank.

Don't worry about the upper half of the cowl. You do not need to support it, the lower cowl takes care of it.

Thank you,
Reza

Have a couple questions regarding cowling.I am at the end of the build finally ,with the da 85 and slimline mufflers I have cut the cowling as per the 85 conversion instructions .Now,do I have to cover up the air holes that were put in for the da 100??/ if so any recommendation are welcome (still be able to take the cowling off with out removing prop)and as light as possible.Second question do I have to baffle the new cut out air holes for the 85???
I have seen one with a full ply plate covering but thats the only one so far, pictures are great if you have them.I will be flying or trying to fly 3d.

thks Darrell,Sudbury,On,Ca
