Will a 380 size work? A Mongoose might be a perfect match. I have no experience with bikes yet, but I assume the have to have real smooth low ends? How large is the battery area? As per ideas for what lipos can fit.

The battery area is big enough to hold a 6 cell 2/3A typical mini stick pack. Take that size to Lipo and you can fit up to about 1250mah and 2 cells or about 800mah and 3 cells. Motor-wise the mounting plate cannot have the bearing sticking out...it must be flat. The can length can be up to 35mm long, any longer and it touches the body work. Use a 2.3mm shaft as well. Most bolt patterns will work and the screw size can be 2.5mm and 3mm, both will work. For KV in the brushless motor I dont suggest any more than 6500kv, makes it harder to control and the bottom end is less forgiving if your not careful and tune for it.

Thanks! What pitch is the pinion? .5 mod metric or .6 mod metric ? Most brushless systems are 2mm or 3.2mm for shaft sizes. So would have to find a alternative pinion than stock. Got mine on pre-order.

Are you sure the stock is 2.3? The Fireball is a 370 motor which I thought only came in 2mm shaft size?

For the BL motor its 2.3mm and for the brushed motor its 2.0mm. Thats whats most common in those motor shaft sizes. The extra torque of a BL motor requires a slightly larger shaft size to be safe...sen many bend easy at 2mm od. The pitch is .5 mod. On our site we have a broad range of pinion gears you can take a look at.

Awesome. That means the Mongoose should work with its 3.2 shaft and them offering .5 mod pitch gears for 3.2 shafts.

You cant use any motor that has the bearing sticking out of the motor mount plate. So the motor has to have a flat face in other words. Look at the Castle Mamba motors for example.
