Will a 380 size work? A Mongoose might be a perfect match. I have no experience with bikes yet, but I assume the have to have real smooth low ends? How large is the battery area? As per ideas for what lipos can fit.

The battery area is big enough to hold a 6 cell 2/3A typical mini stick pack. Take that size to Lipo and you can fit up to about 1250mah and 2 cells or about 800mah and 3 cells. Motor-wise the mounting plate cannot have the bearing sticking out...it must be flat. The can length can be up to 35mm long, any longer and it touches the body work. Use a 2.3mm shaft as well. Most bolt patterns will work and the screw size can be 2.5mm and 3mm, both will work. For KV in the brushless motor I dont suggest any more than 6500kv, makes it harder to control and the bottom end is less forgiving if your not careful and tune for it.

Thanks! What pitch is the pinion? .5 mod metric or .6 mod metric ? Most brushless systems are 2mm or 3.2mm for shaft sizes. So would have to find a alternative pinion than stock. Got mine on pre-order.

Are you sure the stock is 2.3? The Fireball is a 370 motor which I thought only came in 2mm shaft size?

For the BL motor its 2.3mm and for the brushed motor its 2.0mm. Thats whats most common in those motor shaft sizes. The extra torque of a BL motor requires a slightly larger shaft size to be safe...sen many bend easy at 2mm od. The pitch is .5 mod. On our site we have a broad range of pinion gears you can take a look at.

Awesome. That means the Mongoose should work with its 3.2 shaft and them offering .5 mod pitch gears for 3.2 shafts.

You cant use any motor that has the bearing sticking out of the motor mount plate. So the motor has to have a flat face in other words. Look at the Castle Mamba motors for example.

Latest update from Venom is end of September, beginning of October for most of us.

Chris good things come when you wait. I had been working on a new position with another company. I started this last Oct 07 with negotiations and on Oct 1st 08 I start the job. It was well worth the wait.

Just a quick blerb, we are pushing as hard as possible, dont change your orders because when it arrives it will go fast! Last second updates and packaging have held us up just a bit but nothing serious. I just changed out the chain sprocket from 11T to 12T for a couple reasons but this means the stock bike will be faster than first planned! The first few bikes will include both gears and then it will be changed over to 12T for normal production. Anyhow they are in production and will be shipping very soon now that we fixed things.

Cheers,

Chris

Well, after awhile trying to decide to either wait for the Venom, or buy a HOR, I was at my local Hobbytown talking about the Venom and they said there a couple guys there picking them up, so I put a "down payment" on a Venom!!!! And theres another guy there that runs the car races, and hes getting one too, so I told him he should run a Motorcycle class once when we get the bikes, and he fully agreed. So im now on the official "waiting list" so to speak. But Im very glad I went with the Venom. I had a hard time deciding on a color because in all honesty the colors matching isnt too great. I love the white one, but a green rider with a blue helmet? So I asked the employee thats also getting one which color hes getting and he said the red, and then asked if he would swap riders with me and he said yes. I guess hes going to repaint the whole thing anyways. I really wish that the black and grey rider was on the white bike, but all of this has nothing to do with why Im getting it. I just hope that Horizon (Hobbytowns distributor) is getting enough to fill the order that they put in.

Check pic!!!!

This is one of those, I need to see it at the hobby shop before I purchase things. I like the bike but I'm a visual guy and have never bought a kit or RTR that I couldn't see first.

I do think the Venom looks the best out of the 1/8th scale bikes I've seen so far. Will there be a clear shell/fairing and rider available for purchase? I'm not a fan of ANY of the color combos or decals.

BTW $229 is a great price!

You can purchase them now on Venom's site:
http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VEN%2D0290%2D01&tp=
clear body and white rider also. The one thing the designer said was that alot of their parts fit the Kyosho HOR.

Sweet! Will likely end up getting one when they come to the LHS. Thanks for the info, don't know how I missed that as many times as I've been on that site.

Hey Robbmac did you see what I posted about the colors? I dont like the options, and some of the rider/bike color combos are terrible. So Im going to trade a friend that also getting a Venom with his rider. The pic I posted above isnt an actual available combo. I photoshoppped it to show what bike color I chose with the rider im trading for. But I agree that there shoud be a clear body and fairing set someday. Im about 100% sure that when the bike gets well known and companies start making hop-ups that that will be one available. I myself would love that because I would paint it to look like me when Im riding my beast (2003 GSXR 1000 CUSTOM) See pic.

That is a sweet bike you got there! And yeah there's a link on the venom site that has a clear body option for only $19.99 so they've got us all covered in that department. Now the wait is on...

We have an unpainted rider figure as well so you can do any color scheme you like with a clear body set. You have to use paint for urathane foam or a urethane based paint. The stock rider foam paint is very durable and holds up to quit a bit of abuse. The figure is very light too.
The RTR kits are shipping as we speak so we expect arrival very soon in early October.
I hope to see a bunch of videos and pics online of people racing and having fun, I cant wait! There are so many option parts for it you can set it up however you like.

Chris
