Status: offline 		I have 4 gallons of FAI fuel that i special ordered for a particular engine that i never used..... would it be safe to mix a 1:1 ratio of fai fuel with 10 nitro to get 5% nitro fuel?

I should have said: "Yup....assuming both the FAI fuel and the 10% fuel are good commercial grade fuels."
The 1:1 mix ratio will yield a 5% nitro blended fuel.
FAI fuel is 20% castor.
Your 10% fuel should be at least 18% oil (castor or synthetic oil blend).
When you mix your fuels you should limit the liquid exposure to air as much as possible. Avoid air exposure under humid conditions.

Status: offline 		he local shop sells methanol for 6 bux a gallon.... and the lady i spoke says she is not sure if they sell nitro....hopefully they do now all i need to do is find a good oil additive

Status: offline 		I am lucky then, it is around 3.00 a gallon in my area (Sprint Car and Late Model stock car racing). They have it at the pump at the local race shop down the street.
