I have 4 gallons of FAI fuel that i special ordered for a particular engine that i never used..... would it be safe to mix a 1:1 ratio of fai fuel with 10 nitro to get 5% nitro fuel?

MetallicaJunkie,
I should have said: "Yup....assuming both the FAI fuel and the 10% fuel are good commercial grade fuels."
The 1:1 mix ratio will yield a 5% nitro blended fuel.
FAI fuel is 20% castor.
Your 10% fuel should be at least 18% oil (castor or synthetic oil blend).
When you mix your fuels you should limit the liquid exposure to air as much as possible. Avoid air exposure under humid conditions.
Regards
JC

I am lucky then, it is around 3.00 a gallon in my area (Sprint Car and Late Model stock car racing). They have it at the pump at the local race shop down the street.
