i only think a regular engine will work off of hydrogen if it uses a carberator, because it doesnt inject fuel into each cylinder, it lets it go in the intake manifold, and the vaccume takes it in. myth busters are proof of this, you can run a car on it, but you cant make it nearly as fast. almost %100 sure you cant get this to work without lots and lots of power, and lots and lots of water, its impractical, the best idea is to have a hydrogen tank that you refill in the future, making a self supporting car is BS. whats a better idea is to get the gas injectors pressured at thousands of PSI, this atomizes the fuel and will give you 120MPG, but again it is most likely not probible for a average joe to make it.
