I have 4 HS-311's installed in my Sig Sealane and now realized that my Futaba Rx does not have enough range for the nitro plane ( it is an R156F). I would like to buy the micro 05S for the plane and was wondering if the Rx can handle the current draw from these standard sized servos. Can you help, and if possible, can you point me to the manual for this Rx so I can check things out for myself?
Many Thanks,
Curtis

The innovative Micro 05S receiver features auto-shift technology, and can be operated with any brand of modern FM transmitter. Designed for small airplane use, the Micro 05S uses the 5th channel as a 6th channel to accommodate two aileron servos in today’s sophisticated high performance micro electric aircraft. Whilst it will operate with HS-311 x 4, the operative words are "small airplane" and "micro electric" = Park Fliers. EP 2m Gliders, Slope Soarers etc.
HFS-05MS / Micro 05S 5CH Single Conversion receiver details.
Suggested alternatives for your purpose are:
1. HFS-06MT 6CH FM "MINI-6" Single Conversion Receiver
The MINI-6 receiver meets or exceeds the performance level of any FM single conversion aircraft receiver on the market today. The Mini-6 provides glitch free performance in a small package making it the perfect choice for any application where a full range micro receiver is desirable.
2. The new "Neutron" Neutron 6Ch Receiver

Thank you for that information, but I would like to know why I could not use this in a 4ch trainer aircraft. I see the range is 1mile +. Is there something I am not hearing, or not being told as to why I should get the 6ch? I am not sure why I cannot find a suitable 4ch Rx or something with 5 Ch. Are there any specs out there regarding current draw limitations, or why this is mated and only used for small planes/electrics?
Thanks,
Curtis

I have a Futaba R156F that came with my radio system and wanted to use that for my trainer, but now I realize that I can't because it is only rated at 200m. But according to the chart that you have here...
http://webx.dk/rc/RX-measurements/komplet-listen.htm
I don't see it being that bad when it comes to range and channel width at 50 and 70 dB. I don't see the mini-6 on the list or any of the Berg/Castle Creations Rx's.
I am just concerned that I may be replacing my Rx with something that is the same or inferior for fear of range issues that might never present themselves.
Thanks,
Curtis

The Micro 05S receiver does have 1 mile+ range and is the best in it's class as shown under independant tests Comparison charts of RX with FAQ and photos (Graupner = rebadged JR)
Whilst an HFS-05MS Micro receiver could be used in a 4 channel GP trainer aircraft, provided it is very well protected with the same type receiver protection rubber (as supplied by Hitec, not bubble wrap or foam plastic etc), it is not recommended for that purpose. A GP Trainer aircraft is usuallty subject to more vibration and landing shock than any other type of aircraft. If you check the pictures of each of the many receivers shown in the comparison charts, all those recommended for GP aircraft are built of stronger components with a solid case to better withstand vibration and shock impacts.
Hitec provide a range of receivers to suit various types of models, when weight is not an issue as in tis case, always use the strongest possible.
