I'm in lust for a Knockabout and am online with a man who has one for sale. R/C Report was wild about the aircraft, but the editor is a bit of a nit picker. I just don't want to buy a new engine, the .46, and hope to use a 51 SuperTiger without cutting the cowl up completely. Looks and sounds like a great, sport airframe. If my Como .51, a SuperTiger clone, fits OK, this will be a "keeper." I could see this as a Twin also....whoopee! No water here, but I hear it flies fine on floats. We saw the manufacturer at the Toledo Expo but they had NO kits with them and very little information.

They work great on floats. Here is a picture of mine landing on the rear tip of the floats.

I just got back from doing my maiden flight of the knockabout. She flies nice but I wish that there wasnt so much differential in the elevators. I like flying inverted a few feet from the ground and pulling up. But I tried some inverted flight at a higher altitude and noticed this plane barely climbs while flying inverted. Let me add that the plane was a bit nose heavy since I wasnt able to put the battery pack back with the servos. But I will be moving it back before the next flight. Does you Knockabout climb out of inverted flights or do you have to flip it back over and then climb? Will it alllow for a better inverted climb if I take the differential out?

Mine does pretty decent outside loops. Be sure you didn't get the elevator differential backward. You need more down than up on the elevator, as explained in the instructions. That's the reverse of what you put in the ailerons.

My CG is at 3 1/2". I think it flies best there.
