jaskel -> Turn up TX power on wireless camera?? (4/26/2008 7:54:07 AM)

Hoi everyone, I have the http://www.rapserv.com.au/prod4944.htm wireless camera and i want to turn the output power up a little, does anyone know how to do this?? its the same camera as the 2.4ghz ones on ebay but it has an inbuilt battery....the reception is pretty crap so I am not sure if it is the receiver or the TX on the camera..

If anyone knows how to turn up the TX power id love to know how.

It Does have some trimming pots on the PCB but not sure these are for TX.

Look forward to any suggestions

Cheers

J

From the school of hard knocks....ALways mark the adjustments with something, magic marker etc so if you mess it up you can turn everything back where it was. This is Very important. I improved the range on mine by hooking a small hi-gain antenna onto a tri-pod and put it where it would be clear of anything especially people, cars etc. At that freq any obstruction drops the signal to weak. Line of sight is best. I doubt you can increase power with distortion, I use 500 milli watts and get a couple miles on that. It eats up batterys so it becomes a point of diminishing returns after a while.
Hope this helps,
