Just thought I would add my 2 cents. I had the blade grips tore apart on my 400 for the first time today and found something odd. The thrust bearings that go in each blade grip are suppose to have grooved washers for the bearings to rest in Part number EFLH1420 to be exact. http://www.repairblade400.com/ for a color exploded view. Anyway to get to the point one of the washers didnt have the groove cut in it, it was smooth. With the lack of the groove that makes the bearing ride on top of the washer instead of sitting in the groove. With the bearing riding up like that it adds the thickness of half a dozen shims if not more and by my thinking it would make the head way tighter than it should be causing the heli to be way to sensitive. Could this be jcervantes11's problem

Thoughts on this ?

Expo is one of those things that really does not help the novice heli guy in my opion. They end up moving the stick to the curve and then its all over the place.
Unless you are useing very high end servos just limit the travel. you need to get use to linear travel especially if you fly heli.
untill you start to use servos that do not move when you try to turn them with your fingers and have zero dead band, pretty much you will find that all cheaper servos have some amount of built in expo if you know what i mean )

try lowering your swash settings to like 60,60,75 it will lower your collective...just watch your swashplate when you try your right stick youll notice right away how you dont get extreme pitch or yaw.... not just make sticks less sensitive around the center position like expo does... good for newbies hovering and simple forward flight... not for 3d where you will need all your cyclic range.

I use the dual rate switches for rudder, airlon, and elevator, when the dual rate switches are on I set the travel at 70%,When I get the feel for the heli.I can simply turn the switches off and have 100%. Has worked well for me.

I will give it a try and let you know. What you did on U tube, I have been trying to do that for weeks.

Thanks for the Tip.

Hello Leadtongue,

Dendar here, what you just described is where I have the problem. If I fly "tail In" and fly it say 100 feet away and try to turn around by making a right turn, it just gets away from me. I tried turning down the servo travel down, but then it gets too soft and I find myself moving the stick all over. The way I have the transmitter set up now is, Throttle at 0-25-50-60-70. Pitch is at 35-42.5-50-75-100. Travel Adj, Throttle 100%, Elev 60 %Gyro 100% Aile 80% Rudd 80% and Pitch at 100% ,dual rate at 80 with a 5% Expo in it. are your settings similiar? One other question, what is the sub trim used for?

Thanks

Is your swashplate level with the travel adjustments like that at full and no throttle? I use the travel adjustment to make it level at full and no throttle. After that if you want less travel out of the servos then lower all the servo values the same amount to keep the swashplate level. Subtrim is meant to get the servo horns 90 degrees to something. First you put the horn close to 90 degrees, then you use subtrim to get it exactly 90 degrees. With digital servos it will be around 10 or less then analog can be a little higher sometimes.

Nick
