Hey guys I have a helipro Black hawk 450 and its not that sensitive as b 400 3d. So how do I change it so it is easier to fly then it is now. I can hover
but this thing is way sensitive for my liking.

Hey Jim,

The way I "tamed" my Blade 400 was to put some exponential into the elevator and aileron, (the cyclic stick) this really helped me alot when I was first getting used to the B400...just go into the D/R Expo menu and put in about 25% expo in elevator and aileron...

That should help take the sensitivity out of the center of the cyclic...it sure helped me alot...

Good luck with the new heli !

Glenn

so you're saying that it should read:

AILE 0 100% + 25%
ELEV 0 100% + 25%
RUDD 0 100% INH

Thanks, well I like my helipro black hawk 450 way better then my blade. Blade is sooo sensitive and so easy to crash. But blade 3d is fairly nice. I am a bit against the body
looks a weee boring and the battery. But thank you for you're comment.

Yeah just adjust expo`s to soften responses

You still get full servo throw but loose travel (sensativity) at center sticks making it calmer to start with, what expo % to pick depends on your own style / comfort zone, as you get use to it, make it more sensative one step at a time

I don't know if the B400 has flybar weights, but that really helped to tame down the CP Pro.

Tak the shims out of the fethering shaft. That will tame it a bit. My bird had 4 on each side. Tight as a ( ). Took 3 out and the thing hovered like it was dangeling on a string.

It's to late now. I took it to a local hobby shop. They are going to install a flybar and adjust my links and they are going to adjust it so it can be alot more easier
to fly yet still fly like a sporty like fast forward and turnings stuff like that. No biggie. But i'm down with no helicopter to fly. I have a brand new nitro bird also
need to be worked on, and my other 450 size bird is down due to needing blades and some other stuff. I can wait until checks comes in.

Hello Evdreamer, Dendar here, I have been flying a CX-2 for a while and got pretty good with it. I moved up to a Blade 400 and have been working with it for the last month. Although I am still in the "Training mode" I am having probelms with trying to get it to hover. I can hover over a 10 foot square area, but not without really moving the controls a lot. I even turned up the DR/Expo to 20 %. My question is, what shims your talking about? Can you give me a reference number on the Exploded View on page 43 of the manual. I would like to try it and see what effect it has. Thanks in advance for your help

JP743 was the one talking about the shims, but they should be the thin metal washer looking thing touching the dampner on the spindle. I tried looking for them, but I couldn't find them by themselves. I saw them with the spindle and hardware set. If they are the same as the CP Pro's shims I think they are seperate for that helicopter. Try turning down the expo if you need to move the controls that much. All expo does is control the sensitivity of the controls. So with 20% expo you need to move the sticks more around center to get any movement and it will move faster at the end of the stick travel. More shims make the cyclic respond quicker and less makes is respond a little slower. Since I don't have a B400 I don't know what the number would be on the manual. I hope that helped a little.

Hello evdreamer,

I will change the 20% expo down and experiment with it. I did however take a look at some videos that are out there of the other folks that had some first time fights. Mine flies just like theirs. Maybe I just need more time on the "Stick" to get better. Thanks again.

You couldof gotten the blackhawk 450 se its way better and better quality except the electronic. They're great helis, and flyes way better then eflite 400 3d. Easer to
learn and stuff. And its under 300. I have both, I like my black hawk 450, easy to fly around. Eflite 400 3d is a wrong type of heli to learn on. Good to learn in 3d.
Eflite 400 need alot of programing to actually get it to fly like a scale and to train on it.
