Well, I'm in - called Darcy Wingo today to send a deposit and get on the list ASAP. Can't wait to get the full details re delivery, etc....have not been this excited about a new model in a very long time.

Now to find a color scheme and gather documentation.

I heard about this Corsair from Comp-Arf last year and have been patiently waiting. Looks like they've exceeded my expectations! One of these is going to be in my future.

Oh wow!!! That is going to be awesome!! I have to have one.

Any ideas how they lock the wings down?? Is it more than just the hyd piston going over center???

Gathering documentation and color scheme info now...can't decide yet on weathered "period correct" or clean modern restoration finish. But stumbled across this poster and thought it would be appropriate to post here.

To me, nothing looks better than a dirty ole, scratched up warbird. Especially the marine corsairs that were stationed on the islands. Dirty, dirty, dirty. I vote for weathered warbird!

See my thread: post 254/5 for videos.

RACK,

I am really impressed with your Corsair. What is the price for the XXL Corsair? Do you know what the shipping to the US would be? I e-mailed Graham but he is usually really busy and I am anxious to know.

Thanks,

Barry

Can anyone shed light on who the available Comp ARF reps are who have further details on the Corsair? Iam very keen to get more info on this kit and word as to projected availability. I would also like to see some photos of an unpainted airframe/kit showing extent of molded components and surface detail and maybe the gear if possible before getting on the list. To date I have received no response to my email inquiry on the Corsair direct to Comp ARF....?

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers- Marty

Have you tried contacting any of the Comp-ARF reps for Australia? http://www.composite-arf.com.hk/ar/SalesRep

Peter Agnew/Intairco is one rep, the other is Ian Howard/Desert Aircraft AU....

I would also like to see some detail pics but knowing that the gear and wing mechanism is designed and built by Sierra Precision, I am sure it will be nice (if maybe a bit late)...

Thanks Barry, Yes I will give Peter a call.... The gear should be awesome if Sierra have anything to do with them, I have a set in my SisT FW-190. Iam hoping the surface detail and texture will be the same as with their Mig-15 and Mig 29? thats what Iam wanting to really checkout. The wing fold mechanism is very cool but not sure if personally I would want that to be Tx functional on my one...

Cheers- Marty

The Corsair flew daily at the Joe Nall. Fantastic! Andreas folded the wings down on taxi out and up on the taxi in. Wonderful. Only down side I saw from the deal was that it was too quiet swinging that 3-blade Solo prop. I like to hear a little more noise coming from a warbird.

I was on the phone with Darrell T. of Sierra Giant Scale to get some Gee Bee gear and he says that the gear sales from the Comp ARF Corsair are keeping them very busy right now. He also makes the wing folding mechanism to Comp ARF specs. The whole thing is a temendous achievement. Wish I had the kind of money it would take to do that plane.

How much would it be if you did the whole container and I wanted one?
